Allanhead is a pretty and spacious Galloway cottage with stunning views of the sea and surrounding countryside. Facing westwards across Wigtown Bay towards the Isle of Man and the Isle of Whithorn, it has the added benefit of spectacular sunsets - viewing such spectacle is a memorable way to end a day spent in this picturesque and largely untouched area of Scotland where people are few and far between and sites of interest and activity never far away. Set amidst stunning scenery and with no near neighbours, this cottage is the quintessential rural retreat affording a wonderful opportunity to relax and unwind. Pub 2 miles.

Wow what a view! Allanhead is in a peaceful rural setting with huge enclosed gardens - ideal for our dog too!We were totally blown away when we arrived to the stunning scenery and sea view. Allanhead is a simply beautiful, spacious house with everything you could need for a quiet break away from it all. Lots of wildlife, including visits from an inquisitive hare and we even saw a calf being born in the field opposite. Our teens were dubious when we said there was no WiFi, but you can get 4/5G to use your data from the house. They absolutely loved the house and gardens and it was nice to have some valuable family time. A short 15min walk away to quiet Brighouse Bay beach and caravan site which has a shop, pub, restaurant, and even a swimming pool and golf course (which can be used at a charge). We explored the local area as it was our first visit to Dumfries and Galloway. However to be honest, we had a week of amazing weather, so there was no where more perfect than sitting in the garden, admiring the view, wildlife and tranquility. We will certainly be back!!!

We loved the views from this property. The access to footpaths. The quiet location and wildlife. It was very warm and great to have the big enclosed garden for the dogs.
