No smoking.. 1 and 3 Ladyknowe are delightful ground floor apartments just a 5-minute stroll from the heart of the vibrant and bustling little town of Moffat. All on the ground floor, these two apartments have been beautifully renovated and are cosy and welcoming. Each have a spacious open-plan living space with patio doors opening on to private and enclosed rear gardens where you can enjoy the hot tubs, the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the area. 1 Ladyknowe (ref UK39970) has two double bedrooms and a modern shower room, and also a quiet little space to sit as you enter the apartment. 3 Ladyknowe (ref UK39969) has three bedrooms, again with a modern bathroom.
Moffat is a buzzing little town where a whole host of events are held throughout the year, from farmer’s markets to a classic car rally and Gala Week. There are many speciality shops and some delightful award-winning cafés in the town. Located on the scenic Southern Upland Way, Moffat is the perfect place for walkers, and the town was in fact Scotland’s first ’Walkers Are Welcome’ town! Horse riding, quad biking and golf are all available locally, and the 7stanes offers world class mountain biking across Dumfries and Galloway, and the Scottish Borders. Rod hire is available in town for three fishing lochs at the Green Frog Centre on the edge of Moffat, which also has an adventure play park and animal farm.
Further afield there is an abundance of delights on offer, from the many beautiful beaches and forests to historic castles and stunning gardens. There are more than 200 miles of fabulous coastline for you to discover with some stunning scenery, much of which you can discover on the Southwest Coastal 300. No stay in Moffat would be complete without a trip to the Grey Mare’s Tail waterfall, one of Scotland’s favourite waterfalls plunging spectacularly 60m into the valley below. Being only an hour away from both Glasgow and Edinburgh, perhaps indulge in a day of shopping.

The accommodation is set in a super location close to the town but still quiet enough not to notice. Modern inside and well equipped. Few glitches with the property but the owner was responsive and tried to resolve. It would have been nice to use the hot tub when we arrived as we did wait until the next day for it to be the correct temperature, nevertheless we got plenty use out of this thereafter. A little bit of TLC to the outside space would have made this property a complete winner! What would have also been a bonus, is if an information booklet was present re: working equipment and general info of the area. Moffat is a lovely little thriving town with a selection of pubs/shops/cafes and set by the river Annan so nice to stroll of an evening. We explored lots of nearby venues - Grey Mares tail/ Lochaben/ drove an hour ish to Edinburgh/ had a lovely roast in the Black Bull Inn- literally on the doorstep. Overall, we would come back here for its perfect location , affordability and comfort.

The apartment is in a fantastic, quiet location just a 2-minute walk into Moffat, and it is well-equipped on paper. However, our family stay was deeply compromised by a total lack of property maintenance.On arrival, the freezer door had been left open and was completely iced up. Because local support was unavailable, I had to spend my own holiday time defrosting it. Once running, it was incredibly loud, disrupting the quiet open-plan living space.The kitchen sink was a major issue. The waste disposal unit underneath was jammed and completely blocked the flow, meaning dirty water took up to an hour to drain. Using the sink caused old food debris to float back up into the basin, rendering it entirely unhygienic for washing dishes. Furthermore, there was no signage or instruction manual to warn guests that a mechanical disposal unit was in place under the drain. Because a blocked sink naturally prompts someone to investigate, clear signage is urgently needed to warn guests not to put their fingers down the sink hole due to the risk of serious injury.Furthermore, the bathroom requires urgent attention: the bath drain leaks, creating dampness across the floor, and the shower curtain was covered in mould. Outside, the garden is completely overgrown and unmaintained, featuring ruined garden furniture—including a swinging chair where the fabric had collected a deep pool of stagnant, green algae.Finally, recycling instructions were left for bins that did not exist, leading to a single bin being shared between multiple apartments, which quickly overflowed.While the location is excellent, the lack of local maintenance support and the poor condition of the amenities ruined what should have been a relaxing family break.

very nice apartment but booked for 5 people and only 4 cups and a shortish of tea towels and hand towels and bath towels could have been bigger the sinks in both very slow to run away the last day workmen turned up before 8 am and started scraping the outsde walls
