Two of us, plus our dog, spent a week at Flo's cottage, deceptively spacious, tastefully appointed, comfortable and very well-equipped. Linda, the owner, has thought of everything from crisp white bedlinen to fluffy towels, to essentials: tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper, cling film and foil as well as goodies to welcome both us and our dog. I'd packed various things I reckoned I couldn't do without both for our ease of living and the dog's but ,for us, they were already in place and in his case, bowls, towels, poo bag and a nice treat were waiting as well as a wide expanse of grass for the dog (or children who like space to play). The neighbours were really friendly. We're accustomed to rural living and driving to local amenities but there's quite a drive to anything more than a small (well-stocked) shop which might come as a shock to anyone used to urban life. We booked a home delivery and I'd advise that to arrive at the start of the break. The cottage was wonderful and we found a number of great forest walks, but I'd suggest the local authority needs to do more not simply to highlight attractions across the area but provide leaflets with a bit of detail. Most of the signage was generic.

Flo s Cottage just what we needed after a busy summer, if you require peace and quiet then this is for you. Cottage is clean, comfortable, well equipped, bedroom has plenty storage and lovely bed, outside garden has plenty space. Great Location for exploring this part of Scotland with Port William 3 miles away with a restaurant with lovely meals, be aware it closes at six during the week, later at the weekend best check times. Our host Linda phoned to check we had arrived ok and left a welcome parcel followed up by a visit on Sunday to see we had no issues, lovely to have this Communication. We certainly will make efforts to revisit.
