Guests find the cottage very comfortable, especially the beds and living areas. Some mention hard single mattresses, but overall comfort is rated highly, with many positive comments about restful stays.
Facilities are generally good, with well-equipped kitchens and en-suite bedrooms appreciated. However, several guests note that the kitchen, TV, and some appliances could use updating, and a few small items (like boot racks or extra supplies) are suggested.
Guests mention friendly and helpful staff, prompt communication, and thoughtful touches such as quick responses to forgotten items. While some reviews mention positive interactions, there are no references to guaranteed gifts or welcome packs.

Lovely accommodation with freedom to wander the wonderful gardens. Very peaceful. Lots to do in the area including a tour of Mellerstain House. Kelso is an interesting town. Such a bonus to have a bathroom for each bedroom, a great help when we were all getting ready for a wedding. The kitchen area is small but adequate for holiday cooking. Knives and pans not great.
