Park Crescent is a lovely little end of terrace granite cottage which has been completely renovated and modernised to a beautiful spacious modern cottage. With its lovely furnishings, modern well-equipped kitchen, large lounge, king size bedroom and shower room it really is a joy. For “just the two of you” Park Crescent is perfect and with its space and quality throughout you won’t want to tear yourself away. The secluded garden to the rear is just as delightful and you can sit and relax perhaps enjoying your morning coffee or maybe your favourite tipple in the evening.
Creetown is a former fishing village on the River Cree estuary that was founded in the 18th century known as the Ferrytown of Cree it formed one end of a ferry route that took pilgrims across the estuary to Wigtown on their way to the shrine of St Ninian at Whithorn. Creetown is also renowned for its local granite quarries, now closed, with the stone being shipped worldwide. Creetown is home to the award-winning Gem Rock Museum with its collection of gemstones, crystals and minerals. The village store is 200 yards away and the Lairds Inn pub is walkable at about a mile away. The town of Newton Stewart, known as “The Gateway to the Galloway Hills” is just 7 miles away to the west. Creetown is ideally situated in the heart of Galloway to explore the entire area. Hmm, I'm always a little reticent about giving rave reviews in case I can't get booked next time cause everyone's now found my little secret. But here goes. I stayed here for a week. The area. The location was ideal for me but be aware if you are looking for nighlife this is not it. A local store has all the essentials but if you need a big shop you're going to have to go to Newton Stewart. There's an Aldi and a Sainsburys there. A car is essential. But if your coming to D&G you already knew that and there's easy parking outside the property.The cottage. Light bright and airy with a lovely welcome pack. Well presented clean as a whistle and well equipped. Delightful back garden to sit out in and listen to the sparrows squabble or admire the aerobatics of the swallows. Gorgeous large well equipped kitchen with table and chairs. Large lounge with a big TV if the weather's rubbish. Big comfy bed plenty of storage and a plug socket just under the mirror. The loo, well, it's a loo but the walk in shower is a good size and easily accessible. Service & interaction with the owners. Life isn't perfect and there were a couple of issues arose during my stay. No fault, just life. They really couldn't have been any more helpful. Problems were fixed within 24 hours with clear and curteous comms all the way through. You got the impression they really wanted you to have the best time .... and I did. In short lovely accommodation in a beautiful place I'll be back.

The overall score for this review may seem a bit harsh, but bear with me. The back garden is great and the furniture provided adequate but the chairs desperately need cushions if you're going to enjoy more than a quick 15 minutes.The kitchen equipment is first rate and this room escapes my criticism.The shower is good but oh so needs a shower caddy.The furniture in the living room is adequate but just starting to show it's age.The bed is ok but we used a topper on the mattress and there's a slight slope to each edge. The bed frame is a weird metal that can be uncomfortable.Overall the cottage needs some, dare one say, feminine touches. It's crying out for some decorative features such as large pictures. They would also help dampen the 'echo chamber' effect.This may sound weird because overall we had a great week but this cottage could be so much better with relatively little effort.
