Shore Cottage is in a stunning location, right on the beach, the views are amazing. We were lucky with excellent weather, so experienced beautiful sun sets every evening. Sitting at the back of the Cottage overlooking the estuary watching the tide and the birds was so relaxing. We sat outside to eat our tea most nights. The shower is a little challenging as it uses it's own water supply, so the pressure is poor but expected for being in a remote location on the shoreline. You'll need to duck in the bedrooms as the ceilings are low, with a steep staircase, but again expected in a little cottage. We explored the surrounding area and can thoroughly recommend going to the Mull of Galloway, Scotland's most southern point - stunning views, a working lighthouse, RSPB information centre, a cafe & shop. Accessible down a narrow road, it's well worth the journey. Galloway Forest is another must-see, especially the Raiders Road Forest Drive. It's also a Dark Skies Park, so ideal for star gazing.

Lovely cottage, very clean and well equipped. It was quite wintry for a day or too but I was always cosy and warm.I banged my head once on the low beam and that was enough for me to remember to duck next time! The location is gorgeous, watching the changing scenery as the tide ebbs and flows has been so restorative. I really didn't want to leave.I did not know the area well but was pleasantly surprised by the range of things to do, from museums, woodland walks, cairns and stone circles and bird watching. I didn't manage to see everything on my list and very much hope to come back again.
