The village of Mauchline sits peacefully in the lovely hills and countryside in an ideal spot for exploring the beautiful scenery of Ayrshire and the Isle of Arran. Mauchline is probably most famous for being the home of Robert Burns, who farmed in the area for many years and the house he shared with his wife Jean Amour, is now a museum and part of the Burns Trail. There are several golf courses including The Royal Troon close to the village. Culzean Castle is a magnificent National Trust for Scotland property and has been the principal seat of the Kennedy Family since 1759. The country park is 600 acres and has so many attractions for visitors to enjoy.

It was well beautifully clean, well equipped and in a lovely position. It was the perfect base to get out and about to explore the area. There was lots of information available in the cottage about places to visit. We would definitely book this cottage again.

The fire we used regular.Nice big lounge with plenty of seating. The only thing there; was no freezer. That would have been nice. As it was in the country and no shops so near. Visited Glassgow and Culzean Castle with garden . Worth a visit.
