The location is highly praised for its tranquility, stunning scenery, and proximity to beaches and nature walks. However, one review mentioned it was misleadingly advertised as a 3-minute walk to the beach, which was actually longer.

The cottage is described as well-equipped with great facilities. However, there are some comments about maintenance issues such as a broken shower and heater, which slightly affect the score.

While many reviews express gratitude and appreciation for the host and the cottage, there are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches that would fall under this category. Therefore, a score cannot be provided.

About this property

Kilchoan 4 miles.

A charming stone-built detached cottage, superbly located on a hillside in the small, isolated village of Portuairk, the most westerly settlement on the British mainland, at the western end of the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. From its elevated location this Scotland cottage provides breathtaking views over the sea to the Isle of Skye and the small islands of Muck, Eigg, Rhum and Canna. This Scotland self-catering cottage would suit those who want to appreciate the tranquillity and stunning landscape, with its fabulous sandy beaches and abundance of wildlife. The cosy accommodation in this Scotland cottage includes a well-equipped kitchen, a bright sitting/dining room with woodburner. The double bedroom is very spacious and comfortable, ideal for a restful sleep after a day of boat trips, sandy beaches, island-hopping and good walking. All the windows of this Scotland cottage look out over the sea and across to the fabulous sands of Sanna Beach, a short walk away. The neat and private front garden has a patio with dining area - a great place to enjoy an alfresco meal or drink. The nearby village of Kilchoan has a well-stocked shop and is also the ferry terminal providing regular daily trips across to Tobermory on the Isle of Mull, so why not nip across the waters to enjoy a meal out on Mull or perhaps do some shopping in the nice array of shops Tobermory has to offer? The nearby Ardnamurchan Lighthouse is well worth a visit, with its welcoming tea room, and there are some good hotels within a short drive of your Scotland cottage. In fact this is a wonderful place to visit, whether for outdoor pursuits or to simply relax, chill out and enjoy the hills, sea and beaches.

Kilchoan is a small village in the Scottish Highlands. Kilchoan is the most westerly village in mainland Britain, and offers a shop, pub and restaurant. Wonderful beaches and stunning mountain scenery typify the area, which is also well placed for visiting the Isle of Mull, including the town of Tobermory.

Great little cottage, warm n cosy, lovely decor, but best of all the fantastic views from the elevated position, owners very helpful, definitely a little gem

The house was clean, well equipped, comfortable, and very homely, (love the history, had to check out the stove at lighthouse) with breathtaking views right from the window. We loved the walks to Sanna Bay, having the beach just on our doorstep, and the lighthouse tour with its amazing views out to Rum and Eigg. 15mins away from ferry to Tobermory! truly memorable place to stay — highly recommended!
