Resting a stone’s throw away from the shores of the Scottish Highlands in the small township of Sheigra near Kinlochbervie is this characterful barn conversion, Deer House. This semi-detached holiday accommodation is a unique find for those seeking a tranquil oasis in which to switch off from the hustle and hustle of everyday life and to explore the coastline of this corner of Scotland with Sandwood Bay Beach nearby, which some claim to be the most beautiful beach in Britain. Soak up your lovely surroundings and admire the soundtrack of the nearby running brook, before entering into the open-plan living room, offering a social hub for you all to gather to create some wonderful memories. Light up the woodburning stove and sink into the plush seating arrangement, before flicking through the channels of the TV to find your evening’s entertainment. Joining the space is the well-equipped kitchen, where a range of quality appliances arranged in a contemporary assortment is certain to encourage a spot of home-cooking, as well as a dishwasher and a wash/dryer to serve as a helping hand. Concluding the interior of the all ground-floor dwelling are the two elegantly-appointed king-size bedrooms, served by a sleek family shower room. Balmy mornings can be spend savouring your morning cup of tea on the patio and look forward to returning in the evening to enjoy a spot of alfresco dining, whilst admiring the countryside views. For local amenities, travel south to the scattered harbour village Kinlochbervie, home to a shop, a post office and hotels with restaurants that are open all year round. A short drive will take you to the Oldshoremore Beach, or keen walkers can enjoy a four mile walks to a scenic wild beach of Sandwood Bay backed by huge sand dunes and a loch, which some consider to be most beautiful beach in Britain. Further walks can be enjoy within the area, including the nature reserve of Handa Island where puffins can be seen in the hundreds, alternatively, head further afield to immerse yourself in the local history by visiting Smoo Cave, a cave complex dating back some 5000 years in Durness, which is also home to a golf course and further beaches. Also, for th geologically inclined, the Bone Caves near Inchnadamph

Kinlochbervie is the most northerly of all the fishing ports and boasts a large fish handling depot, resting far north west of Scotland. The area is surrounded by a stunning rocky coastline and within the village, you will find a well-stocked shop, a post office and hotels and restaurant that are open all year round. Close by is Oldshoremore Beach and the more famous Sandwood Bay Beach, which have been claimed to be the most beautiful beaches in Britain.
