Lying just a stone's throw from the shores of Loch Duich, Silver Birch Lodge is perfect for a family or friends seeking a tranquil retreat, with the benefit of a large garden, off-road parking and close proximity to the loch. On arrival take in the peaceful surroundings of this Highland cottage, with views of The five Sisters of Kintail, before admiring the property exterior after parking in the ample off-road parking area. Head through the front door, passing the pretty front decking, and into the entrance porch where you can leave boots following your adventures. Take the first right into the sitting room to find a contemporary space to unwind, decorated in hues of blue and grey with local art on the walls, find soft seating and a TV in here. The dining room is off to the left and enjoys plenty of light from the patio doors leading out to the decking, where you can relax with a drink in hand and soak up the scenery. A beautifully fitted kitchen has all you need for rustling up delicious dishes for the group, with sleek grey units and quality appliances, along with a utility room adjoining it home to the washing machine and tumble dryer. From here make your way outside to the rear garden to find a lovely spot to enjoy nice weather, with an elevated patio home to a large picnic table. Back in the house, the ground floor is home to one of the three lovely bedrooms, this one home to a king-size bed and served by the ground-floor family bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. The only thing we would like to say is the check in and check out timings need to be relaxed. Especially the 9am check out time we find is too early especially when your expected to strip beds etc.

Fabulous views all round.Great walks from the doorstep. Although a 40 mile round trip to the nearest Co-op this should not be deterrent to anyone thinking of staying there.The Isle of Sky is only a few miles further with some of the most loch and Mountain scenery! The cottage was more than equipped in regards to kitchen essentials. For observation only; None of the shower rooms/Bathroom have an extractor fan.The Master upstairs bedroom could do with a replacement Mattress as my Son found it very hard and uncomfortable due it lacking support from springs. We would give your housekeeper Nadja 110% for her cleaning skills. Cleanest holiday let we have ever stayed at. We hope to go back there sometime within the next couple of years! Jackie Dawson.

That last point is really important, the kitchen was well looked after and all the small things, like sharp knives, made the stay like a home from home. Highly recommend. The owners were great and had loads of local knowledge and recommendations to share.
