  This is an outstanding cottage and absolutely beautifully appointed.

  It is located for easy access to many tourist routes. The owner provided an excellent welcome pack which went on an on when we looked in the refrigerator! What a lovely start to our holiday. We had travelled from Skye and our lovely sat nav led us a merry dance cutting corners etc. Our sat nav took us past the cottage and we had to telephone the owner for direction so, if you are approaching from Bonar Bridge the cottage is located just past Invershin station on the left hand side of the road. Another note: The filling station at Ullapool takes cash only. We found that there were a few cafes that did not take cards so just have some cash with you! Dornoch is very close and has the most beautiful beach and headland walk. The town has lots of shops and eating places, plus a good Co-op. We took the single track road to Ullapool and, as we found on Sky,. other road users were very good re stopping at the passing places. It is a winding road but with lovely views etc. We decided to come back via the main road but wished we had not due to road works and traffic - and it was a long way around. The weather was good and we were able to get to John O'Groats in the sunshine stopping off at some of the various towns along the way. Invershin Falls is just left of the cottage and then right onto a single track road and worth a visit. We are sure you won't be disappointed with the cottage and the locality.

  We had a great holiday at this property.

  The house was beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. The facilities at the house were first class and the hot tub was the “cherry on top”. The location was great for trips to the many seaside towns in the area and for country walks with our dog. And that view from the house and garden just has to be seen to be believed!! We spoke with Grant the owner a few times and he was very nice, helpful and accommodating. The welcome pack was a nice touch and appreciated. Although we had a mixed bag of weather it didn’t dampen our enjoyment of the house in the slightest. When it was wet and miserable outside the log burner fire and comfortable lounge were so relaxing and when it was warm and nice outside the garden furniture and that view really were worth the drive alone. Would highly recommend this lovely, spacious and private property to anyone and will definitely be looking to go again sometime in the future.

  The cottage was lovely.

  Very clean and well equipped and the welcome pack was the best we’ve ever had anywhere. The beds were so comfortable and the furnishings were excellent. Red squirrels in the garden and lots of birds. The area was great lovely scenery but quiet roads so it was a pleasure to drive around and take everything in. The Achness Bridge Hotel at Rosehall was great for a meal and the staff were very welcoming. The food at the Pier at Lairg was very good but the welcome less so. Just ignored for quite a few minutes when we got there. Dornoch is a pretty town with lovely shops especially the Jail!! A small department store converted from the town jail. Lots of lovely walks in the area. We were very fortunate with the weather but the cottage was so comfortable it was a pleasure to sit in the conservatory and just relax. Thanks to Katie the owner and Morag the housekeeper for making our stay so enjoyable.

  We've stayed at St.

  Aethan's twice now, and after exploring a variety of places around Scotland—from the high end to the low—we finally found a spot where we truly feel comfortable. Our first experience didn't start out great due to some miscommunication, and the place wasn't set up for us when we arrived. However, this issue was quickly resolved. It was an eye-opener to see how some previous visitors had treated the property—it was left in a disgusting state with no cleaning done whatsoever. Despite that rocky start, our New Year's stay was still magical, which is why we decided to return. We’ll also be coming back for Christmas and New Year. The location is secluded and quiet, incredibly comfortable, and has everything you need for a long stay. The upgraded smart TV is a bonus, especially on rainy days. We look forward to many more stays here in the years to come. Thank you for the logs too

  We tore a pair of trousers on a damaged chair in the dining room.

  We didn`t like the look of the expired chemicals in the airdryer; mosquito nets could have been more useful. The property was damp on our arrival. We felt disturbed by the lawn mowing as well as the window cleaning, which both took place in the morning, while we were in the house. Bedding, that was kindly exchanged after 9 days by the cleaner was left as a pile in corridor. The electricity in the master bedroom is still strange. There were only few teaspoons and bigger glasses -just one beer glass. The colander as well as the dish drainer were rusty. Investing in a bigger TV would well upgrade the property, the buttons on the remote control were worn and could be replaced. We were disappointed, that we couldn`t use the garden due to the clouds of midges that would fill the air.
