  Great 'home from home' to spend a week in.

  Arrival milk etc package appreciated. Just a few tweeks I would recommend :- Install a fridge/FREEZER compartment. I know in the instruction boook it says get in touch to get a key to access the freezer in the adjoining outhouse ..... but come on ... really ? I found a key hung in the meter cupboard (but only near the week end of staying there) ..... for a week a Freezer is a must (although I noticed one is not stated in the cottage details. Also, the picnic bench is in need of replacement.... it's unsteady and flexible when you sit on it ! Our weeks weather was so hot that a few fans would be appreciated .... especially in the upstairs areas. Hundreds of Mini black flies in the upsatirs bathroom plagued our visit ( due to the hot weather ? .... unsure). It needs an extractor fan. It would have been nice to have a set of nice matching mugs instead of the multitude of 'building site' ones. The duvet has a LOVELY cover on it whcih feels great. I couldn't really fathom the TV to get 'live' TV on it .... please leave instructions for visitors. Overall, a really lovely place to stay and in a great location to explore the areas around. We usually like to meeet and have a quick word etc with the owners but not a problem.

  My son and I went for a New Year break at Laxdale Cottage near Fort William.

  I have never dealt with self catering so wasn't sure what to expect. We were not disappointed. The cottage was warm and spotless. There was complimentary eggs, bread and milk, enough for a late supper or nice breakfast if you arrived empty handed. The shower room was amazing with under floor heating, lovely large shower and great bath. The kitchen was loaded with utensils.. Lovely sized bedrooms, and NO SOFTENER SMELLING BED LINEN, just fresh and clean. (I hate softeners with a passion). Living room was cozy, we wanted to put the log burner on but didn't really need it, even with minus degree temps at the time. Lots of information on a cork board in the kitchen with taxi numbers, where to eat etc.Only one very minor thing was the top of the drive. The loose stones were a bit of a pain when reaching the top in the car.. All in all, we would go back in an instant. Thank you x

  Laxdale cottage is fantastic.

  Up to now the best we have stayed in. The kitchen was so well equipped it was unbelievable. Attention to detail outstanding. The owners of this cottage should be very proud of what they have created for their guests. It is a lovely homely place, where we felt very comfortable from the moment we walked in. The views from the lounge looking towards Ben Nevis were spectacular, and after dark the twinkling lights of Ford William could be seen in the distance. About a 20yd walk from the back doorway and you are beside Neptune’s Staircase Locks. All in all, a fabulous location, a perfect holiday cottage, and if you are somewhat less mobile, like myself, the walk in shower is perfect. Would definately recommend.

  The bungalow itself was outstanding.

  Everything we needed was there and its far more clean and modern inside than the outside would suggest. It had a nice big kitchen table for meals, a large wooden-floored hallway, cosy lounge, an adequate main bedroom, a good-sized twin-bedded room and a spacious, contemporary bathroom with walk-in shower. There is also a small utility room as you enter the back door for dirty walking boots and coats. From the lounge window Ben Nevis looks down on you. Plenty of garden front and back, although the former is quite steep. However, there is a small patio area outside the front door. We would have no hesitation in staying here again.

  Breathtaking and stupendous views of the mountains and corries from a brilliantly designed and furnished super clean house.

  The infusion of natural light is very clever and the one floor layout makes for easy living and movement around the property. The guidance manual is also easy to understand and use. One of the best lets we have used. The only negative is the poor listings accuracy by the agents viz, the nearest shop/pubs are 6.4 miles away not as listed. Fuel and power are listed as free but manual says only starter wood qualifies. This needs tightening up i.e. by using wood is this classified as theft !!!!!!!!. Apart from this a very desirable and attractive property
