Having stayed before I knew that it was good. Plockton is a nice place to stay with friendly locals especially in the Plockton Inn. You have to drive, or get a train to Kyle to shop so take as much as you will need with you.The Inn and hotel do good food.In summer there is a chippy, in winter there is a mobile chippy once a week. The one downside is noise. The rooms above have little soundproofing and if the people are inconsiderate or have kids expect to be woken early, as I was.

We found Hirta to be a good place to stay for visiting the Highlands of Scotland. We will certainly seek to book the apartment again at some point in the future. We found it to be very comfortable and well equipped for our holiday.Contacts re the apartment were very helpful and friendly.

A return visit to Plockton but the first time in Hirta. A very well appointed, comfortable and well equipped apartment for two people and in our case a dog. We particularly liked the French windows looking out on to the small but perfectly formed patio from both the living room and the bedroom. Spoiled for choice with places to eat out but we were particularly enjoyed our meals in the Plockton Inn (where we've eaten before) and The Shores where the seafood was outstanding. Hirta is the perfect base for chilling out in Plockton, or venturing further afield.
