Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Initial logs for wood burner included.. Enclosed garden. One small or medium dog. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. No smoking.. Tawmans has been restored and refurbished to a very good standard of accommodation. One of its unique features is its turf roof; a form of roofing that was prevalent in Viking times and even predates thatch. Forming a protective carpet of grasses and wild flowers it adds immense charm to this unique and picturesque cottage.Original thick stone walls, deep silled windows, solid wood flooring and the cosy wood burning stove complete the picture.
The high ceilings throughout maximise the light and add to its distinctive character. The cottage is superbly positioned below the Trotternish Ridge looking towards the outer Hebrides between open farmland and the sea and the spectacular seacape views and sunsets are a magical form of entertainment. Surrounded by its own garden grounds it provides an ideal location for couples or singles to escape from it all.
Initial fuel for woodburner included, thereafter available locally at cost.

Beautiful cottage,amazing views and lovely garden full of wildlife!! Inside was very clean and well stocked of the essential items. Very cosy. The only thing I would say that let the cottage down, is that there wasn't a washing machine. If you're looking for somewhere quite, tranquility with abundance of natural beauty then this is the place. What was lovely, the owner came by and introduced herself and showed us where they were if we needed to get hold of them for any reason.
