The Narrows is situated just off the picturesque North Coast 500 route, on one of the most scenic parts of this renowned and stunning coastal route. There are superb walks direct from the cottage along the riverbank and through the surrounding hills. The immediate area is a wildlife enthusiast’s paradise. Whales, dolphins, sea eagles and otters are all seen close by, and Pine Martin visit the picnic table just outside the window. Warmed by the Gulf Stream, this unique part of west coast Highlands enjoys a mild climate and is scenic and totally unspoilt. The sub-tropical gardens of Inverewe, just 5 minutes’ drive away, bear testament to this. Golf, fishing, cycling, hill walking, sailing and canoeing are all local pastimes. With wonderful sandy beaches, bays and islands this is an ideal location for visitors and a real get-away-from- it-all holiday. Beach 5 miles. Shop and pub 1 mile.

First time visiting the Poolewe area and this was the perfect home for the week. Stunning location with beautiful views to wake up to, and the cottage itself is perfect. And our daily visit from a local stag just topped off an amazing escape from the daily grind.

The cottage is beautiful, spotlessly clean, comfortable, warm and is in an amazing setting overlooking river Ewe, lots of wildlife in the area and we had so many lovely birds visiting the feeders in the garden everyday, the beaches in the area are beautiful, we managed to visit five different ones and had some lovely long walks, the dogs loved it 😊 the cafe in Pool House was nice with delicious food and the ladies who worked there were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area they told us lots of interesting information. We would highly recommend The Narrows and we will definitely be staying again.
