Portknockie is a great place for walkers and those who love to take in the local scenery. The neighbouring village of Cullen, about 2 miles away, is very much worth a visit. The local delicacy of cullen skink (a thick soup made with smoked haddock, potatoes and onions) is very historical and a great dish to try. You can take a boat trip on the Gemini Explorer to search for dolphins in the Moray Firth from Buckie, a working fishing town about 4 miles away. Or, further afield at Spey Bay, you will find the popular Scottish Dolphin Centre and Nature Reserve. The famous Speyside Whisky Trail is also within easy reach and should not be missed.

The cottage was lovely, attractively decorated and furnished, with a good heating system, and a well equipped kitchen. It's just a short walk from a stretch of the Moray coastal path with its dramatic coastal scenery. Extra touches in the form of a generous welcome pack made me feel, not surprisingly, properly welcome. My thank to the owners. I hope to be able to visit again.

This was our second time at Portknockie Escape. We absolutely love it. It is a really comfortable house with a nice atmosphere. We love the Moray Coast so it is in a super place for us to go walking.

Lovely well equipped cottage with comfortable, quality furniture throughout. On arrival the property was spotlessly clean and we received the most generous welcome pack we have ever had. Excellent heating and wifi throughout.Portknockie itself is a welcoming, traditional fishing village with 2 pubs and a Spar store. There are excellent eating options in the village, as well as nearby Cullen and Fordyce. For us a perfect location, near to Speyside without lots of tourists.
