Portknockie is a great place for walkers and those who love to take in the local scenery. The neighbouring village of Cullen, about 2 miles away, is very much worth a visit. The local delicacy of cullen skink (a thick soup made with smoked haddock, potatoes and onions) is very historical and a great dish to try. You can take a boat trip on the Gemini Explorer to search for dolphins in the Moray Firth from Buckie, a working fishing town about 4 miles away. Or, further afield at Spey Bay, you will find the popular Scottish Dolphin Centre and Nature Reserve. The famous Speyside Whisky Trail is also within easy reach and should not be missed.

Accommodation was first class, didn’t want for anything, very nice welcome pack, extremely comfortable and clean, dog friendly with plenty of walks in the area, for supplies there is a small Spar store in the village and a Tesco supermarket in Buckie.

Can’t recommend too highly. The cottage is clean, welcoming, and has everything you need for a holiday. The ‘welcome pack’ was a particularly nice touch - easily the best we have ever had. All of the above made this a really good stay - great communication too. Thank you so much Paul.
