Set in stunning surroundings with uninterrupted views over the surrounding countryside, River Cottage is a charming, self-catering, detached holiday cottage. Idyllically positioned for those seeking a tranquil and rural retreat, surrounded by magnificent scenery, close to the hamlet of Enochdhu in the heart of Perthshire. Once part of the Kindrogan Hunting Estate, the cottage is built on ‘policy ground’ and is renowned for its outstanding countryside, wildlife and dark sky location. There is an abundance of cycle and footpaths from the front door and The Cateran Trail is close by, as is Glenshee, Scotland’s largest ski area. After exploring the area, guests can relax on the terrace with a glass of wine and see deer drinking from the river. An abundance of bird life and red squirrels are frequent visitors. Kirkmichael is only 3 miles away and has a local shop, restaurants and pubs, Pitlochry is only 10 miles, Blairgowrie 15 miles and Perth 28 miles. Glenshee Ski Centre is just 20 miles away. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

We had a great time at River Cottage. The house is lovely and we didn't miss a thing. We enjoyed the quiet and peace in nature and loved to watch the river and the birds. We took a walk here on our last day, the other days were pretty busy. There's a lot to discover in the area, therefore we had car drives about 20-60 minutes every day. Our kids really enoyed their first time in Scotland, too. As for me - Tha mo cridhe ann an Alba!

What’s a gem! We’ve had the most amazing stay here. Maureen is a very thoughtful host. Everything was spotless, the beds were comfy, the river just outside the back door was magical - and seeing red squirrels was the icing on the cake. We squeezed lots in with visits to Pitlochry, the Crannog and Castle Menzies at Aberfeldy and the Glenshee ski lift. It was lovely coming back each night to our cosy River Cottage. Just perfect!

Stayed at the cottage for four nights and it was great. Perfect location by the river bank. Had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable.Bonus was being able to watch the red squirrels and pine marten feeding on the decking.Perfectly situated for exploring the surrounding area.Would not hesitate in recommending this cottage.
