The Clock House is a well-received cottage offering a warm, welcoming, and peaceful retreat. Guests praise its beautiful location, cleanliness, and the extensive grounds of Mellerstain, ideal for walks and relaxation. The property is well-equipped and comfortable, with some guests noting the lovely homemade treats at the on-site bakery. While most experiences are positive, a few guests suggest improvements in updating facilities and providing local information.
The majority of guests found the cottage to be very clean, with only a minor comment about the cleaning of some kitchenware and bathroom grout. Overall, the high level of cleanliness contributed positively to the guests' experiences.
The location is consistently described as beautiful, peaceful, and convenient for exploring the Borders. The proximity to attractions and the natural beauty of the grounds are highly appreciated by guests.
Guests report the cottage as comfortable and well-appointed. However, one guest mentioned the lack of blinds on skylights as a minor discomfort. Overall, the cottage provides a cosy and relaxing environment.
While the cottage is generally well-equipped, some guests noted the need for updates and the absence of local information. The presence of a bakery on-site is a plus, but the lack of a welcome tray was a minor inconvenience for one guest.
There are mentions of a bakery and homemade treats, but no specific references to gifts provided by the hosts. As such, it is not possible to accurately assess the thoughtfulness in terms of gifts, and the score is set to null.
