The ideal family friendly holiday cottage complete with hot tub and private garden. Up to two dogs are welcome too. The Lodge is the perfect space for a family or group of six. Whether you plan to walk, fish, cycle, shop or simply relax and enjoy each other’s company, everything is on offer that you might need for the perfect countryside escape in the Scottish Borders. With three large bedrooms and two bathrooms as well as a large country kitchen and separate dining room, there is ample space to make yourselves at home, even on the rainy days. The private garden is fenced making it an ideal play area for children or dogs, and the little gate leading to the secret sit-ooterie opens into the perfect spot to sit with a morning coffee overlooking the farm landscape. There is also a decking area with seating for six, hot tub and a stone barbecue stand ready for your garden party in the summer. Disposable barbecues are not included in your stay so please do bring these with you if you plan to barbecue.
With Kelso a short 5-minute drive or 35-minute riverside walk away, you are close enough to pop in for a lovely meal or browse around the shops but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet of country life. Enjoy a day out at Kelso races, or take the riverside walk from the farm into town to enjoy a pub lunch or spot of shopping. Fly a kite, meet the animals, or watch the combine harvesting the grain in late summer, whilst sipping something chilled in the garden. A list of the best activities to try during your stay is on hand, whether you fancy your hand at some archery, want to tackle the trails on your mountain bike or perhaps fish for salmon on the famous River Tweed, there really is something for everyone. Wonderful family memories are what all guests should leave with after a stay in The Lodge, and we think there is everything you need right here to make them.
