Guests say

Craigdarroch Cottage is praised for its cosy, warm atmosphere and beautiful location, making it an excellent base for exploring the local countryside. Guests appreciated the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and thoughtful touches such as festive decorations. While some found the cottage immaculately clean, others noted issues with damp, mould, and tired decor. The proximity to a busy road was mentioned as a drawback due to noise, and the garden was described as overgrown. Overall, the cottage offers a charming stay with great access to walking and cycling routes.

Reviews are mixed: several guests found the cottage clean and well-presented, while others reported issues with mould, damp, and stale smells, particularly in the bathroom and carpets. This variation suggests inconsistent standards.

The cottage is set in a beautiful area, ideal for walking and cycling, with lovely countryside nearby. However, the main road directly outside leads to significant noise, which affected some guests' sleep and enjoyment.

Most guests found the cottage warm, cosy, and comfortable, with super comfy beds and a homely feel. Some noted low ceilings and draughts, but overall comfort was a highlight for many visitors.

The kitchen is well-equipped and essentials for cooking are provided, but some guests noted missing basics like tea and coffee. Maintenance issues such as loose carpets, tired decor, and unclear instructions for humidifiers were mentioned.

Guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as festive decorations and a box of Celebrations, as well as the honesty box for firewood. Please note that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

We really enjoyed our stay here, even if the weather tried its hardest to dampen our spirits. The only reason location is marked down is due to the constant busy road. Great area for getting around but road noise had an impact on sleep, so take ear plugs. Hosts were great and very helpful whenever we asked them questions.

Clean and we'll stocked with all you might need to cook etc with fabulous views. The only main downside is the road running past the front door. It's noisy day and night and the windows don't block out the noise. The decor is tired in the bedrooms and the lighting is quite dark but the beds are super comfy. Careful getting out of bed on the side near the door as the ceiling is very low. However the house is centrally located for both walking and cycling routes and the local area is beautiful. Almost as soon as you cross the road you are in lovely countryside. There isn't really a garden and with the proximity of the road it would be a no for children and dogs for me. For ir adults who come to walk or cycle it's perfect.

We had a truly fantastic stay at the cottage. It was exceptionally warm and inviting, and the festive decorations—along with a thoughtful box of Celebrations—added a wonderful, cosy Christmas touch that made our trip even more special.
