Guests say

Copper Crab Cottage offers a cosy base in Amlwch, with guests appreciating its excellent location for local walks, dog-friendly amenities, and a well-equipped bathroom. The cottage is praised for its welcoming host and comfortable atmosphere, making it ideal for couples or solo travellers with pets. However, some guests noted that the property and gardens would benefit from additional maintenance and cleaning, and a few found the stairs steep. Overall, the cottage provides a pleasant stay with good access to local amenities and beaches.

Several guests mentioned issues such as dust, cobwebs, stained carpets, and untidy gardens, though some found the cottage clean and comfortable. Cleanliness appears inconsistent and could be improved.

The location is frequently praised for its proximity to local shops, pubs, beaches, and walking routes, making it a highlight for most guests.

Guests found the cottage cosy and comfortable, especially for couples and dog owners. However, some reported issues with the mattress, cold temperatures, and steep stairs, which may affect those with mobility concerns.

The cottage is generally well-equipped, with a good bathroom, TV, and enclosed garden. However, guests noted missing or faulty items (e.g., freezer, smoke alarms, utensils), and maintenance issues in the garden and kitchen.

Some guests appreciated a welcome pack and helpful advice from the host and caretaker. Please note that such gifts or extras are not guaranteed for every stay.

Back garden is a mess.very untidy and unsafe.Front garden a mess with a full bin when we got there. Also rubbish in front garden.broken front gate.Very poor selection of utensils in draw. ie sharp knifes.knifes and forks very poor quality. Outside furniture needs replacing. Broken fence at bottom of garden. Garden needs weeding and broken slates is the wrong covering for the floor. Propertie was cold even with 3 electric heaters. We lit the log burner but that was a waste of time at giving heat out.Overall I can say about the property the photos are not up to date. Only good part is the shower.

Would not recomend this to anyone. Dog friendly not at all. Stairs narrow and dangerous. Over all would have to do a lot for people to stay there.we were booked in for 7 nights we left after 2 nights . We were disgusted and went home.

This cottage hasn't seen any maintenance in years and looks nothing like the cottage advertised. On our arrival we were met with stained carpets damp walls, a smoke alarm disconnected, a rusty old mattress on the bed and bed sheets covered in stains. The rear garden had long since seen better days and there was dog poo bags thrown in the gutter. We contacted the owner who agreed the property was in a disgusting state. We ended up staying in a nearby hotel at his expense. He promised us he would replace the mattress make things right the next day. We gave him the benefit of of doubt and allowed him to try and rectify the situation. Unfortunately when we returned to the cottage nothing much had been done other than place a very large king sise mattress on a small double bed frame which looked ridiculous and was even more ridiculous trying to sleep on. The sheets didn't fit the mattress and my wife and I didn't have a comfortable night. Subsequently we cut our stay short and left the next morning. This level of contempt for the people who are renting holiday cottages only serves to ruin the trade and damage British tourism.
