Guests say

Salmon Leap Lodge receives high praise for its spotlessly clean and well-equipped accommodation, set in a peaceful and attractive location near Dollar. Guests frequently mention the warm welcome from the host and neighbour, as well as the thoughtful touches that make for a comfortable stay. The lodge is ideally situated for exploring local attractions and scenic walks. While most feedback is overwhelmingly positive, a few guests noted minor maintenance issues and occasional discomfort with beds or the shower. Overall, the property offers excellent value and a relaxing retreat, with many guests eager to return.

Cleanliness is consistently highlighted, with numerous guests describing the lodge as spotlessly clean, tidy, and well-maintained on arrival. Only one or two minor comments about end-of-season maintenance, but no significant concerns about cleanliness itself.

The location is frequently praised for its tranquillity, scenic surroundings, and proximity to Dollar and local attractions. Guests appreciate the easy access to walks and nearby towns, with only minor remarks about walking distance to the pub.

Most guests find the lodge very comfortable, cosy, and homely, with quality bedding and furnishings. However, a few reviews mention issues with mattress comfort and the shower temperature, which slightly lowers the score.

The lodge is described as well-equipped, modern, and offering everything needed for a pleasant stay, including kitchen appliances and entertainment. Some guests noted minor maintenance issues (e.g., slippery decking, shower temperature, bathroom door), but these did not detract significantly from the overall experience.

Many guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as welcome packs, snacks, and even festive decorations. It should be noted that these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, but the host's attention to detail and warm welcome are frequently mentioned.

Salmon leap lodge was prrfect for a relaxing holiday. The lodge is very well presented with all of the amenities necessary for a self catering stay. The park is located a short walk from Dollar village which has, itself, good local shops and amenities. I recommend a visit to the Japanese garden just outside the village. The garden is beautiful and includes a cafe/gift shop. The area has many attractions including Stirling castle, a safari park, the kelpies and the Falkirk wheel.

Arrived with my dog as pre booked and was told the minute I arrived by a neighbour that she wasn’t informed about the dog ? Apparently she was also the cleaner and it gave her extra work ?!! The 3 ft bed is 2ft 6 in and mattress was not comfortable. Neighbour has cctv which I was uncomfortable with . Approximately 8 ft between chalets . Snacks advertised were out of date . Booked for 3 days and we came home after 2 . I did not think it was value for money

Lovely lodge, clean and well equipped with great facilities. Would highly recommend this lodge. The only downside is that the owner or manager of the park insists on putting an advertising A borad in the middle of the entrance which causes a vision obstruction when exiting the site.
