Guests praise its proximity to beaches and local amenities, the comfort of the accommodation, and the friendly owners. While some minor maintenance issues and cleanliness oversights are noted, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with many guests eager to return.
Most guests found the property well-kept, though there were occasional mentions of cobwebs, scuffed walls, and a need for a deeper clean. Some guests noted issues with dishes not being cleaned properly, suggesting room for improvement in this area.
The location is highly praised for its stunning sea views, proximity to beaches, and easy access to coastal walks. Guests appreciate the peaceful setting and the convenience of local amenities within walking distance.
Guests generally find the property comfortable, with a particularly comfy bed and a cosy atmosphere. Some guests mentioned steep stairs and uncomfortable dining chairs, but overall, the comfort level is rated highly.
The property is well-equipped with a good kitchen, effective heating, and a great shower. However, some guests experienced issues with the Sky TV and Wi-Fi, and there were comments about drafty windows and the lack of a DVD player.
While some guests mentioned a lack of welcome packs, which would have been appreciated, there is not enough consistent information about thoughtful touches or gifts to provide a score. It should be noted that while such gestures are appreciated, they are not guaranteed.
Situated directly above the sandy beach of Aberporth and with superb sea views, this Cardigan Bay studio cottage makes a perfect coastal retreat for two. Steps lead down to the beach for an evening stroll or there are benches on the village green where you can watch the fishermen bringing in their catch or just enjoy the sun set.
Cardigan Bay coastline is part of the All Wales Coast Path and there are some truly spectacular scenery and walks from the door. There are two sandy beaches in Aberporth and the locals say one of them is always sheltered. Aberporth itself has welcoming pubs, shops and eateries. If you can tear yourself away, a little further along the coast are more coves and beaches such as Mwnt, Tresaith, Llangrannog and Cwmtydu. The coastal towns of Cardigan, New Quay and Aberaeron have a larger selection of eateries and a good selection of shops, galleries and pubs.
Aberporth is a small town that sits on the southern edge of Cardigan Bay in Ceredigion, renowned for it's fabulous beaches that attract visitors, all year round. There are two beaches that sit between the rocky headlands of Trecregyn and Fathgarreg, separated by a smaller rocky outcrop. Uniquely, at low tide they interlink, but at high tide, they create individual beaches and create great rock pools for the children to play in and explore. Small boats, canoes, and kayaks can easily be launched from the north beach, while the south beach lends itself beautifully for a spot of sunbathing. Close to the beaches, there is a small seaside café, fish and chip shop, and a friendly pub serving good food and drinks. In the village itself, there is a range of shops and takeaway stores. Nestled directly on the famous Wales Coast Path, between the towns of Cardigan in the south, and Llangrannog and New Quay to the north, it is a great base for exploring this glorious stretch of coastline. Venture to Cardigan and discover the town’s many shops, tea rooms, restaurants, pubs, and bustling markets. Visit the nearby themed farm park, spot dolphins from the coastal path, or take a boat trip for the chance to see them up close! Aberporth is a great base for exploring this wonderful part of West Wales, with something to do for all the family.

Great coastal walks and lovely views. We have never been disappointed with Sykes' cottages.

) we arrived to a dishwasher full of dirty dishes, which we were going to clean by hand as there were no dishwasher tablets. But resolved by a phone call to the cleaning company. An unfortunate start but things go wrong occasionally. On the plus side we were able to store our eBikes in the entrance passage, a real bonus for us. And it's a great area for cycling too. So may well return!

If I had to pick one thing it would be that the sofa was quite uncomfortable, but this did not by any means spoil anything about our stay. We have been going to aberporth for the last 20 years and this was our first time in this accommodation, it rained for most of the week but coming back to this cozy little place was great.
