Fisher Granary is a link detached cottage located in Lampeter, Ceredigion. When you step through the front door, you are greeted by an open-plan kitchen and dining area with seating for up to eight people. The kitchen has high-quality black worktops and white cabinets which house all the appliances you could need during your stay. Along the hallway is a spacious living room with a minimalist-style decor, and a selection of leather settees and armchairs for comfortable seating, as well as an electric fireplace and Nintendo Wii for all the family to get involved. You will also find a modern ground floor family bathroom with a choice of a freestanding bath and a walk in shower. Upstairs has a king-size, a double and two family bedrooms, both of which contain a double and a single bed. All bedrooms have sloping ceilings, TVs and plenty of storage space, with one family room housing a PlayStation and the other family room having an Xbox, ideal for children. There is a first floor shower room, so you don't have to run downstairs in the middle of the night. Outside there is a lawned garden close to a small river and the small water wheel. There is also a large field for guests to use. Nearby, you could visit the Vale of Rheidol Railways, a narrow gauge heritage railway, opened in 1902 and running for almost 12 miles. It has first class carriages and an audio tour through the hillside woodlands. Or venture towards Devil's Bridge Falls, with its perilous-looking stone bridge viewpoint for a waterfall that plunges into a deep, wooded gorge. Also nearby is Cardigan Castle, overlooking the River Teifi. It is a Grade I listed building and dates from the 11th century, though it was rebuilt in 1244, and makes for some magnificent sightseeing. For the more artsy types, visit Aberystwyth Arts Centre, a community centre which hosts arts performances with workshop spaces including pottery. It has a theatre, concert hall, studio and cinema, as well as four gallery spaces and cafes, bars and shops. Fisher Granary is the ideal property for friends and family to gather together.
Lampeter is a town and community in Ceredigion, South West Wales, lying at the confluence of the River Teifi. The town developed the crafts, services and industries to cater for the needs of the rural area. There were several woollen mills, one of which in the mid-18th century was already producing the complex double-woven tapestry cloth later to become associated with the Welsh woollen industry. There were also blacksmiths, a leather tannery, carpenters, saddlers, bootmakers and hatters. The poet Dylan Thomas had links with the area.
