Cilcennin 1.7 miles. A welcoming detached cottage in a quiet countryside location in Cilcennin near Aberaeron and set in the grounds of the owners' home. The owners of this superb Aberaeron holiday cottage have created a property and patio which can be enjoyed by all, whether fully able-bodied or in a wheelchair, thanks to the ramped entrances, wide doorways and ground floor bedroom with en-suite wet room. A large welcoming sitting room, where you can cosy up in front of the woodburner and enjoy family meals around the table, is the first room you discover as you enter your Aberaeron cottage.
Then, wander through into the well-equipped sunny kitchen before stepping out onto the large decked patio where you will find the hot tub. Many relaxing hours can be enjoyed right here, before retiring to one of the charming Aberaeron cottage bedrooms to enjoy a good nights sleep. As well as the superb ground floor bedroom, there are three more delightful bedrooms on the first floor of this Aberaeron cottage. There was plenty of room, enough seats and didnât feel like we were on top of each other. It wasnât perfect, there was a few marks, stains on the bed, rip in sofa, cobwebs etc but this didnât bother us, it actually put us at ease as we had kids. There were plenty of places to visit if you have a car. The kitchen was well equipped, it has a slow cooker and air fryer which was very handy. We brought a lot of essentials like Tea, cooking oil, cleaning stuff etc but there was stuff there ready for us to use. The only thing I would say is it could do with better frying pans, considering it hosts 11 people the two were very small and not in the best condition to use. The twin room was also quite small and probably suited better for young children as the ceiling is at a slope so easy to hit your head when in bed. Overall we had a lovely time.

Can see itâs quite well adapted for people who need it. The games âroomâ barn was a little run down IE no tips on the cues, and other things were ruined with the rain coming in quite bad. Fully equipped for cooking and plenty of room for multiple people. :) Wouldâve been nice for the hot tub canopy to have a cover on it as the rain was really bad the entire stay.

Negatives- The games room was a barn where birds could enter and there was bird droppings all over the pool table and other games tables. The hot tub was not accessible for a wheelchair user and the steps did not have a handrail making it challenging for users with poor balance and mobility. Worst of all the property run out of gas on Tuesday morning and was not refilled until Thursday morning, meaning 2 full days without heating, hot water and gas hob/oven was unusable, we were told this was not the ownerâs fault and were given a meal from the pub as compensation which in our opinion does not equate to 2 days without basic facilities.
