Guests say

Cariad Cottage is highly praised for its comfort, spaciousness, and dog-friendly environment. Guests appreciate the friendly owners, Ray and Dawn, and the added luxuries such as a hot tub and fresh eggs from on-site chickens. The property's location is ideal for exploring nearby towns and coastlines, and it offers a range of amenities that cater to both adults and children, including a games room and outdoor play area.

Most guests found the cottage to be spotlessly clean, with only a few minor observations regarding dust and cobwebs. The overall impression is of a well-maintained property, contributing to a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

The cottage's location is frequently highlighted as perfect, with its proximity to beaches, towns, and nature being a significant draw. The peaceful setting is appreciated for relaxation, and the ease of access to local attractions adds to the positive experience.

Guests consistently mention the comfort of the cottage, noting the spacious rooms, comfortable furniture, and cosy atmosphere. The presence of en-suite bathrooms and a wood burner add to the overall comfort level experienced by visitors.

The facilities, including a well-equipped kitchen, hot tub, and games room, are well-received, though some maintenance issues are noted. The hot tub and games room, in particular, could benefit from attention, but these do not significantly detract from the overall positive feedback.

The owners' thoughtfulness is evident through gestures like providing fresh eggs and being available for assistance. While such gifts are warmly mentioned, it's important to note that these are not guaranteed and may vary with each stay.

There was plenty of room, enough seats and didn’t feel like we were on top of each other. It wasn’t perfect, there was a few marks, stains on the bed, rip in sofa, cobwebs etc but this didn’t bother us, it actually put us at ease as we had kids. There were plenty of places to visit if you have a car. The kitchen was well equipped, it has a slow cooker and air fryer which was very handy. We brought a lot of essentials like Tea, cooking oil, cleaning stuff etc but there was stuff there ready for us to use. The only thing I would say is it could do with better frying pans, considering it hosts 11 people the two were very small and not in the best condition to use. The twin room was also quite small and probably suited better for young children as the ceiling is at a slope so easy to hit your head when in bed. Overall we had a lovely time.

Can see it’s quite well adapted for people who need it. The games “room” barn was a little run down IE no tips on the cues, and other things were ruined with the rain coming in quite bad. Fully equipped for cooking and plenty of room for multiple people. :) Would’ve been nice for the hot tub canopy to have a cover on it as the rain was really bad the entire stay.

Negatives- The games room was a barn where birds could enter and there was bird droppings all over the pool table and other games tables. The hot tub was not accessible for a wheelchair user and the steps did not have a handrail making it challenging for users with poor balance and mobility. Worst of all the property run out of gas on Tuesday morning and was not refilled until Thursday morning, meaning 2 full days without heating, hot water and gas hob/oven was unusable, we were told this was not the owner’s fault and were given a meal from the pub as compensation which in our opinion does not equate to 2 days without basic facilities.
