The cosy sitting room, centred around a wood-burning stove, is ideal for relaxing after a day of exploring, while a second snug provides a peaceful spot to enjoy a morning coffee or curl up with a good book. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you’ll need to prepare leisurely breakfasts or family suppers, while the dining area is the perfect place to gather and plan the next day’s adventures.
Upstairs, you’ll find three comfortable bedrooms, each thoughtfully furnished to ensure a restful night’s sleep, along with a family bathroom.
Step outside and discover one of Derlwyn’s real highlights. The generous enclosed garden offers plenty of space for children to play, dogs to stretch their legs and everyone to simply enjoy the surroundings and views of the delightful Aeron valley.
Enjoy breakfast at the picnic table just outside the back door, soak up the afternoon sunshine from one of the garden benches, or unwind with a glass of wine on the patio overlooking the surrounding countryside.
Perfectly positioned for exploring both coast and countryside, there’s no shortage of places to discover nearby. The colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron is just over 2 miles away, with its attractive waterfront, independent boutiques, cafés, restaurants and famous honey ice cream. A visit to The Harbourmaster is highly recommended, whether for lunch overlooking the harbour or an evening meal showcasing locally sourced produce.
The beautiful beaches of Cardigan Bay are within easy reach, with New Quay a favourite for families. Spend lazy days on the sandy beach, enjoy water sports, or take one of the popular wildlife boat trips where you may be lucky enough to spot the area’s resident bottlenose dolphins. Walkers will also love exploring sections of the spectacular Ceredigion Coast Path, with breathtaking sea views around every bend.
The National Trust’s Llanerchaeron Estate is very close by, where you can explore elegant Georgian architecture, beautiful walled gardens and peaceful woodland walks. The cycle track between Llanerchaeron and Aberaeron is also easily accessed. Alternatively, visit the nearby market town of Lampeter to browse its independent shops and cafés, or discover Cors Caron National Nature Reserve, one of Britain’s largest raised bogs and a haven for wildlife.
Local bus services for Aberaeron, Aberystwyth, Lampeter and Carmarthen, with connections to Cardiff, stop less than 5 minutes walk from Derlwyn.
