Ashover Lodge offers a warm and efficient heating system, with some guests finding it a comfortable and clean base for exploring the area and enjoying local entertainment. The enclosed garden is appreciated by dog owners, and the property has been enjoyed by repeat visitors. However, it may benefit from a makeover and attention to maintenance.
Reviews are mixed regarding cleanliness; some guests found the property dirty upon arrival, requiring cleaning before use, while others reported it as clean. The presence of dirt and the need for cleaning by guests significantly impacts the score.
The location is appreciated for its proximity to bars and entertainment, and it offers a quiet environment at night. However, access is challenging due to an unmade, potholed track, and the property can be difficult to find, especially in the dark.
Guests have had a comfortable stay, with the property providing warmth and reasonable comfort. Some guests mentioned issues with space around the bed, but overall, the comfort level seems satisfactory.
Facilities are noted to be very old and in need of updating, with some furniture requiring replacement. Kitchen appliances and equipment were not up to standard for some guests. The efficient heating is a positive aspect, but the loud boiler detracts from the experience.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches by the owner in the reviews provided, so it is not possible to assess the level of thoughtfulness. Therefore, this score is set to null.

Accomodation was very difficult to find and up what could only be described as a dirt track full of massive potholes. It was behind a house and appeared to be a converted garage. The property was very dirty on arrival. The bathroom was manky. There were hairs on the very old lumpy mattress which was dirty along with the old dirty flat pillows. We arrived after a long journey feeling tired and before being able to relax we had to clean the accomodation as best as we could. Furniture is in dire need of replacing in the bedroom and some in the living area. Kitchen appliances were very old and the kitchen equipment all needed washing up before use. The only upside staying here was the heating worked efficiently but the boiler was very loud.

Another lovely week spent at Ashover Lodge. Perfect location for the bars and entertainment. But very quiet at night and safe.Enclosed garden for the dogs and comes with a parking space which is great. We have been here now on a few occasions and just feel now it is in need of a bit of a makeover. It is just looking tired. We would still recommend it though for all the things stated.

Had a great time at Ashover needed somewhere close to visit family. Had everything I needed clean and comfortable, weather was nice so got to sit outside and relax on the decking area. Bit tight round bed but as only me pushed bed over. Would recommend Ashover lodge for a great base for exploring area..
