About this property

Set in the seaside town of Old Colwyn and county of Conwy, is this stone-fronted terraced cottage, 26 Llawr Pentre. Welcoming up to four guests and one well-behaved dog, 26 Llawr Pentre is a charming and traditional dwelling, suitable for a family break. On arrival at the property, park up on the nearby roadside and head towards the wildlife-friendly garden, accessible over a small stream/bridge. Stepping through the front door and into the beamed living/dining room, enjoy the warmth of the open fire whilst socialising or tuning in to your favourite TV programme. Beyond here, find the fully-functioning kitchen, perfect for preparing heart-warming meals for your party. Boasting an outdoor seating area to the side of the cottage, opt for alfresco dining as the sun shines through the garden, enveloped by the epitome of nature. When sleep calls, head upstairs to two spacious double bedrooms, ample storage for your personal belongings, and a family-sized bathroom with shower, ready to prepare for your impending plans; You'll also find an additional cloakroom on the ground-floor. The village of Old Colwyn is small yet popular, full of local amenities, pubs, takeaways, and restaurants, along with a coastal track, providing easy access to neighbouring towns. Bordered by the shoreline, nature reserves and wildlife, there's plenty to experience nearby, including trips to Colwyn Bay Beach, walks across the Rainbow Bridge and its stunning setting, or strolls around Eirias Park Lake. For animal enthusiasts, Welsh Mountain Zoo is also accessible by car, housing rare animals including snow leopards and red pandas, along with visits to Fairy Glen and Gop Hill Cairn, both offering sightings of the wild. With stunning landscapes nearby, setting the ideal scene for a family picnic or an afternoon stroll, head over to Queens Garden, Bodnant Garden, or Llandudno Promenade to discover the beauty of North Wales. Make 26 Llawr Pentre your base for a family break to Conwy.

Old Colwyn is a small seaside village to the east of Colwyn Bay, a major coastal resort. From Old Colwyn to Penrhyn Bay, a wide promenade winds down the sweeping bay, providing access to a lengthy coastal cycle track, three miles of safe sandy beaches, and Rhos-on-pier Sea's and port. The famed Welsh Mountain Zoo, Eirias Park with its great indoor and outdoor leisure facilities, a number of neighbouring golf courses, and a variety of restaurants and bars in both Old Colwyn and Colwyn Bay are just a few of the nearby attractions. Day visits to Victorian Llandudno, with its good shops, the attractive mediaeval town of Conwy, with its 13th Century castle, Bodnant Gardens, and the breathtaking scenery of Snowdonia and the Isle of Anglesey are all worthwhile. In reality, Old Colwyn is an ideal base for exploring North Wales.

It is a (I think quite old, hence the charm and beams in the ceiling) gem just off a little river and hence isn't a new build without charms, but is full of character, with the odd quirk one would expect. It is very well equipped and the pictures certainly don't do it justice, and made our stay a breath of fresh air. The location was perfect too, we found it very hard to leave and come back to London! We'll be back.

Beautiful cottage in old Colwyn where I used to live and where I went to school 1 min from bus stop Llandudno Conwy Snowdonia Anglesey close 10 minute walk to beach also it's one of Sykes cottages where the photos don't do it justice and the cottage is better than what the photos suggest
