About this property

Tucked away in the village of Henllan is this lovely, semi-detached cottage, Celyn. Surrounded by the picturesque Denbighshire countryside, this pet-friendly dwelling offers a relaxing break for families and couples in a rural location with easy access to local amenities, off-road parking, walks from the door, and an enclosed garden overlooking the hills. Inside, you'll find a bright and airy open-plan living space where you can catch up with loved ones in the sitting area, admire the country views, and watch the TV. The space also has a well-equipped, contemporary kitchen with marble-effect worktops and an electric oven and hob, so you can prepare home-cooked suppers with ease.

Next door, you'll find a fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and extra storage space in the utility. Dinners can be served at the dining table for four, or why not make the most of those idyllic views in your private garden? Dogs are free to roam the enclosed lawn, whilst you dine al fresco or enjoy a moment's peace with a glass of wine. Completing the ground floor is a sleek shower room with a walk-in shower, perfect for freshening up after the day's adventures. Upstairs, both bedrooms benefit from countryside views; the twin bedroom, which can be super-king-size on request, also hosts an en-suite bathroom for relaxing soaks in the tub, and the king-size has dual aspect for more views.

You'll also receive complimentary dressing gowns, forget-me-not baskets, toiletries, and a tea and coffee starter pack. If you can tear yourself away from this peaceful retreat, Henllan is a picturesque village, home to The Llindir Inn, a rustic thatched pub serving classic fare, as well as a Post Office shop to stock up on the basics. Following the public footpath from the village will lead you to the surrounding hills for lovely walks, as well as the fascinating ruins of Fox Hall Newydd. The market town of Denbigh is a stone's throw away where you can find a variety of shops and eateries, from Con Amici Italian Bar and Kitchen to the Brookhouse Mill, along with the historic Denbigh Castle, Denbigh Friary, and Denbigh Golf Club.

On the outskirts, you'll find scenic walks to the top of Moel Famau and the Clwydian Range, whilst Snowdonia National Park is within easy reach for plenty of outdoor pursuits including Gwydir Mawr & Bach, Zip World Fforest, and mountain hikes. Alternatively, head to the coast where Colwyn Bay, Llandudno, and the ancient market town of Conwy all await. Whether you're seeking a romantic escape or a family holiday, Celyn has something for everyone in North Wales.

Henllan is a small North Wales village between Denbigh and St Asaph. The village has a shop/post office and a good pub. St Asaph received city status in 2012 and is known for its white cathedral. In September, the North Wales International Music festival comes to town, culminating in a televised finale from the cathedral. Nearby Denbigh dates to the 11th century and boasts a 13th-century castle perched on a steep hill above the town, with a stunning castle walls walk and superb views over the surrounding countryside. The town is steeped in Welsh culture and is home to many Welsh literary giants, including 17th century poet and author Twm o'r Nant, famous for performing his light-hearted ‘anterliwtiau' interludes or short plays in the area, and famous 19th century printer Thomas Gee, who established the Gee Press works in the town, and more recently the ‘queen of our literature', Kate Roberts. Denbigh is a busy town with shops, pubs, walking festivals, beer festivals, the Denbigh and Flint Annual Show, and a monthly People's market. Henllan is a great base for exploring the Clwydian Range's Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the lakes of Llyn Brenig and Llyn Alwen, a haven for cycling, walking, and fishing in North Wales. Conwy, Llandudno, Snowdonia, Angelsey, and Chester are nearby.
