Spend afternoons in Ruthin (3.5 miles), Mold (7 miles) or Wrexham (14 miles), soaking up the lively atmosphere of the latter following its recent Hollywood spotlight. For a change of pace, take to the coast with trips to Rhyl (20 miles) or Colwyn Bay (27 miles).
