About this property

Waterfall Cottage, at the centre of the action in Lower Dyserth, is a charming double‑fronted end‑terrace cottage, rich in history and character. Dating back to the 1800s, the property began life as a single‑storey stone barn before becoming a laundry in the early 1900s. By the 1950s, it had evolved into the two‑storey building seen today, later serving as a village shop before finally becoming the welcoming home it is now. Many original features have been lovingly restored, and the addition of a woodburning stove enhances its warm, inviting atmosphere. Positioned directly opposite the picturesque waterfall and the popular ice‑cream café, Waterfall Cottage enjoys partial waterfall views and the soothing sound of cascading water throughout the day. Flowers frame the exterior, and as you step inside, you’ll find a layout perfectly suited to families or friends looking to explore North Wales. Head straight upstairs to unpack in the main bedroom, which hosts a super king‑size bed, or the lovely twin room. Both bedrooms feature traditional fireplaces, adding to the cottage’s timeless charm. Downstairs, the spacious sitting room offers a relaxing retreat, decorated in calming neutral tones with stylish patterns and centred around the woodburning stove and restored original features. It’s an ideal spot to unwind in front of the television after a day of adventure. The dining room is a versatile space for enjoying home‑cooked meals or giving children their own corner for evening wind‑downs. The kitchen leads out to the garden, where a raised terrace and decking create a delightful outdoor haven. Enjoy a book, and the gentle soundtrack of the nearby waterfall. With great walking routes right on the doorstep and tourist hotspots close by, Waterfall Cottage is perfectly placed for exploring the local and surrounding areas. Lower Dyserth itself offers a wealth of amenities. Just a few metres away, The Red café/pub serves excellent coffee, breakfasts, light lunches, and friendly evening drinks, often accompanied by entertainment and even Salsa classes. Next door, The Chapel hosts yoga sessions (booking required), while another welcoming pub within walking distance offers hearty food and a large beer garden. The village also boasts an award-winning butcher, an award-winning Indian takeaway, a café, a shop, and a larger supermarket, all just a short drive away. For added indulgence, a spa resort with dining options is less than five minutes from the cottage. The surrounding area is equally enticing. Take a stroll to the nearby waterfall for an up‑close view, followed by afternoon tea at the tearoom beside it. The Blue Flag beach at Prestatyn is only a short drive away, offering watersports, seafront cafés, and a bustling market. Golfers will appreciate the proximity of Saint Melyd Golf Club, while families can enjoy days out in Rhyl, home to the SeaQuarium, a pavilion theatre, and a miniature railway. For those seeking breathtaking scenery, Offa’s Dyke National Trail, spanning 177 miles along the English/Welsh border, provides unforgettable walking opportunities. With its rich heritage, beautiful charm, and unbeatable location, Waterfall Cottage offers the perfect base to soak up the beauty, culture, and adventure of North Wales.

The Owner also has The Castle Appartment in Conwy ref: 971546

Dyserth is close to the lovely North Wales coast, four miles from the seaside town of Prestatyn. There is easy access to lovely local walks including Offa’s Dyke Path, Gop Hill, Allt Y Craig and Golden Grove, where you can enjoy the fantastic scenery and vistas of the local area. Prestatyn, whose Blue Flag beach provides miles of golden sand, is ideal for bathing, water sports and fishing.
