Maestyddyn cottage is a wonderful cottage situated adjacent to a working 500-acre hill beef and sheep farm, in a rural location, near the village of Clawddnewydd, seven miles from the bustling market town of Ruthin in Denbighshire.
Ideal for families and groups of friends, your Denbighshire cottage offers charm and character with Welsh slate used throughout, original oak beams and a stone inglenook fireplace with feature bread oven. The cottage is home to two reception rooms, one with a toasty woodburning stove, and a fantastic banqueting room where you can catch up over dinner. This farmhouse is amazing and just as described. It is so roomy, comfortable and contains everything you could wish for and more (thank you for the treats in the fridge!) Though a working farm, nobody was intrusive to our stay, the opposite in fact. When we asked, they kindly let us meet the cows. Canât recommend highly enough, thank you Mr Williams! Would also recommend during your stay to visit the The Glan Llyn Inn (amazing food) and to book a visit with Woolly Experiences (for alpaca cuddles and more)

Access to the property is via a half mile of rough farm track and the property itself is situated within the courtyard of a working farm. The accommodation inside was spotless, with all rooms, bedrooms and ensuites looking clean and well kept. The kitchen was also clean and very well stocked with all that we needed, including two dishwashers, two fridge-freezers, two kettles and plenty of glasses, crockery and cutlery. The multitude of pizza trays was especially well thought out! With two lounges and the hot tubs, there was plenty of space for the teenagers to hang out, and the dining area seated us all comfortably at mealtimes. Beds and bedrooms overall were very comfortable. For anyone with limited mobility, note the ground floor bedroom has a very high bed, which proved challenging to get in and out of, although the wet room was certainly helpful. Two bedrooms upstairs share an ensuite: a room with a sofabed and cot that connects to a double room. This is not ideal for privacy since you need to go through both bedrooms to get to the games room. There was an external stairway from the courtyard, which would be an alternative way to access the games room, but it didn't appear to be operational. Mr Williams was extremely helpful and responded promptly to issues arising. We would recommend this property as ideal for larger groups, with flexibility of bed arrangements (king-size/doubles or twin/triple) plus games room, sauna and hot tubs.
