The picturesque walled city of Chester is within easy driving distance from your cottage near Ruthin, and offers fantastic historic buildings, and a great selection of shops, pubs and restaurants; take a pedal boat or a rowing boat out onto the River Dee, visit the Roman Amphitheatre, or walk the ancient walls.

Pentre Celyn is a very pretty, scattered hamlet some 5 miles from Ruthin. Ruthin itself sits on a hilltop, with a variety of attractive half-timbered buildings and interesting shops, as well as Ruthin Gaol, Ruthin Craft Centre and Nant Clwyd House (the oldest timber frame in Wales). Llangollen is to the south, via the breathtaking Horseshoe Pass, Lake Brenig, Moel Famau Country Park and Clocaenog Forest, or head to the Snowdonia National Park, the beautiful coastline and historic Chester.

The property is clean and well maintained with all the usual home comforts and fast broadband. The hot tub is an added bonus. The owners were friendly, approachable and attentive to our every need. We would highly recommend as a great holiday home to enjoy the surrounding countryside
