The roads to the property were narrow single track and very potholey. Nowhere to put any groceries .Well equipped, and clean. Very nice owners. Wooden stairs not very older person friendly, especially going down!

I cannot recommend Ty Clyd, Mold enough. It's a beautiful barn conversion and a perfect escape in charming Welsh countryside, and it truly feels like a home from home. The location is just breathtaking - it's so quiet, tucked away, and you get these gorgeous, panoramic views over the countryside. It really feels like a peaceful retreat. The barn is tastefully decorated, with every detail considered especially for dogs. There is a blanket box full of blankets, towels, leads, bowls and toys - just everything you could need. Plus the dog friendly walks right from your doorstep are just fantastic.....forest, countryside, even a beach a little further away. A real highlight was the nearby farm, where you can get fresh milk/milkshakes straight from the herd via lovely dispensing machines. They even have a machine for delicious ice-cream with all sorts of toppings. The bottles for the fresh milk are reusable, beautifully designed with the dairy's name on them, and they come with a lovely lid-so you can take home a special keepsake. There's also a charming local general store that stays open late, so you can always grab essentials, and a wonderful farm shop nearby offering a wide selection of traditional Welsh goods-everything from artisan meats to fresh fruits. The town centre of Mold is just a short drive away, and is also worth exploring - there's a market that runs twice a week, and a couple of boutique clothing shops that really caught my eye (and purse!)The welcome pack was such a thoughtful touch and I can't wait to return - it's a truly special place, so thank you Simon and Sally, not forgetting Michael who was "on call " in your absence.
