Step further inside and you’ll find a south-facing open-plan kitchen/living/dining space which has all the essentials for a fuss-free stay, and a door to the garden and patio area. Cook up a feast, choose a movie or listen to your favourite music – however you spend your time here, you can enjoy doing things together. When it’s time to retire, a peaceful double bedroom with an en-suite shower room beckons – all-year comfort comes courtesy of a ground source heat pump and solar power energy and, for added convenience, a shared utility room houses laundry facilities and a freezer. The cottage is reached by a long private driveway and you’ll be able to fully appreciate the peaceful location as you sit on your patio or explore the nature-rich grounds, which include two ponds.
This delightful holiday hideaway is located 1.5 miles south of Llangain and has friendly owners who are happy to share their local knowledge and sightseeing suggestions. Around 3 miles away, Llansteffan has a long tradition for shipping and as a holiday resort – its castle is spectacularly sited on a craggy promontory at the mouth of the river. Walks in this area combine fabulous coastal scenery with lovely country lanes often skirted by flower-rich hedgerows. Visit Carmarthen (5 miles) for a fine selection of shops, pubs, galleries and eateries and the site of what was once the most westerly amphitheatre in the Roman Empire.
