Perched on the edge of the Menai Straits, Sunrush House welcomes you with breath-taking views of the shimmering waters and the majestic Menai Suspension Bridge. This exquisite manor effortlessly blends period elegance with modern comforts, offering a warm and inviting retreat for large groups, family gatherings, or special celebrations. As you arrive, the sweeping driveway leads you to the grand entrance, where the charm of this remarkable home begins to unfold.  

Stepping inside, you are immediately greeted by high ceilings, intricate period detailing, and beautifully restored sash windows that flood the space with natural light. The entrance hall invites you in with its welcoming ambiance, leading you to an array of grand yet comfortable living spaces. The main sitting room, with its plush sofas and large bay windows, offers a perfect spot to unwind while soaking in panoramic sea views. For those seeking a quieter moment, the second lounge provides a cosy retreat, ideal for reading or simply admiring the scenery.  

The formal dining room is a showstopper, with an elegant table seating up to sixteen guests and a backdrop of ever-changing waterscapes. It’s the perfect setting for lively dinners and long, memorable conversations. The kitchen is a chef’s delight, fitted with modern appliances, gleaming granite worktops, and a sociable breakfast bar for casual mornings. Meanwhile, the music room, complete with a piano, sets the scene for evenings filled with melody and laughter.  

Sunrush House is designed for both relaxation and entertainment, with a snug gaming lounge that promises fun for all ages and can even double as an extra bedroom if needed. The six beautifully styled bedrooms are havens of comfort, each offering spectacular views of either the Menai Straits or the landscaped gardens. The master suite boasts a king-size bed, walk-in wardrobe, and a luxurious en-suite, while the family suite features a unique mezzanine layout.  

Outside, the magic continues. A spacious terrace stretches along the waterside, complete with a barbecue, comfortable lounging areas, and a large dining table for al fresco meals under the stars. The enclosed gardens provide a peaceful escape, with winding pathways leading down to the water’s edge. Whether you’re watching the boats drift by, sharing stories around the firepit, or simply taking in the stunning surroundings, Sunrush House offers a truly unforgettable stay.

Over the water from the house is Menai Bridge full to the brim with an array of shops and restaurants.  We recommend a tapas meal at the Freckled Angel for some delicious small plates, or a lovely local menu with a seaside view at Dylan’s.  The Menai Food Festival is a must if you are visiting in August, and if food is your thing then make sure you book in advance at Sosban and the Old Butcher’s, with food deserving of its Michelin Star.

Why not visit the only working windmill in Wales at Llynon Mill?  Built in 1775 the mill still produces wholemeal flour, whilst two neighbouring roundhouses provide a unique insight into the farming practise and lifestyle of the Iron Age.  There is also a wonderful on-site café to grab some lunch or a slice of cake during your visit.

If you want to get out on the waves, we recommend a visit to Beaumaris Pier to grab a boat trip to Puffin Island.  Skippers will steer you past the seal colony and seal cave at Penmon Point lighthouse, whilst the Island itself has a plethora of birdlife from cormorants, guillemots and of course puffins!  If you are lucky you may even spot bottlenose dolphins or harbour porpoises swimming by.

A trip into the Snowdonia national park is a must during your stay.  Whether you are looking to climb the highest peaks or just take in the natural beauty of the National Park there is something for everyone.  We recommend the Llyn Cwellyn Boardwalk trail, an easy access lakeside walk that meanders between two soaring mountain peaks.   If hiking isn’t your thing then why not hop on board the seasonal Snowdon Railway, surely one of the most picturesque train rides in the world, with stunning scenery and awe-inspiring views you can ride the rail right to the summit without any exertion needed!
