Ddol Helyg Barn is a well-received holiday rental, praised for its peaceful location, spaciousness, and the owner's hospitality. Guests enjoyed the proximity to local attractions and the added bonus of an on-site pottery workshop. The property is suitable for large groups and families, offering a cosy atmosphere with a wood fire and en-suite bedrooms. While some minor maintenance issues were noted, the overall experience was positive with many guests planning to return.
Most guests found the property clean and well-maintained, though a few noted areas needing attention, such as dirty bathrooms and the need for a sweep upon arrival. The majority of reviews, however, did not raise cleanliness as an issue, suggesting that the property is generally kept to a good standard.
The location is highly praised for its beauty and convenience, with easy access to Snowdonia, local shops, and a pub. The serene setting and proximity to attractions like Llanberis and Caernarfon add to the appeal, making it an ideal base for exploring North Wales.

Facilities were generally appreciated, especially the well-equipped kitchen and the wood burner. However, some guests mentioned issues with showers, ovens, and heating, indicating that maintenance could be improved. The on-site pottery was a highlight for many.
The owner's thoughtfulness was frequently mentioned, with guests appreciating the warm welcome and helpfulness. Some guests were delighted by treats such as cakes, though it should be noted that such gestures are at the owner's discretion and may not be a consistent offering.

Situated in the foothills of the Snowdonia Mountain Range, Llanrug is a small village with two pubs and a shop just three miles from the famous town of Llanberis. Popular amongst walkers, this tranquil settlement is set beneath the Snowdon Massif and flanked by the Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris lakes. As one of the most popular mountain tourist centres in the Snowdonia National Park, Llanberis is an ideal spot for walkers and climbers to gather, particularly during the annual Snowdon marathon. For the less energetic holidaymaker, trains travel to the summit at regular intervals giving those unable to climb to the peak a chance to enjoy the incredible views. Back in the town itself there are a number of excellent places to eat and drink as well as a great choice of shops.

Barbara opened the workshop for us on New Year's Eve, we had an amazing time, my children and grandchildren loved it, the robin was so special, my husband died 6 years ago and I have always associated him with a Robin, I feel he was with us for the weekend, thank you so much xx

the session in the piggery pottery was one of the highlights of our stay, it definitely kept everyone interested and busy on an otherwise wet and windy afternoon. The accommodation is perfectly positioned to further explore the coast and Snowdonia.

Went out of her way to be helpful and was only ever a phone call away with advice or support as needed. The accommodation was great for us as a large group and a great retreat from some beautiful wet and wild walks this winter!
