Ddol Helyg Barn is a well-received holiday rental, praised for its spaciousness, welcoming host, and additional pottery activities. Its location is ideal for exploring Snowdonia, with guests enjoying the proximity to local attractions and the comfort of ensuite bedrooms. The property's charm and suitability for large groups and families are consistently highlighted.
Most guests found the property clean and well-maintained, though a few noted areas needing attention. The majority of reviews reflect a positive experience, but the mention of cleanliness issues in some reviews slightly lowers the score.
The location is highly praised for its convenience to Snowdonia, Caernarfon, and local amenities. Guests appreciate the scenic surroundings and easy access to walking trails and attractions, contributing to a high score.
Guests generally find the property comfortable, with spacious rooms and a cosy wood fire. However, some comments about uncomfortable beds and heating issues suggest room for improvement, resulting in a slightly reduced score.
The property is well-equipped for large groups, with ensuite bathrooms and a large kitchen. Nonetheless, reports of maintenance issues with showers, ovens, and heating, as well as suggestions for upgrades, affect the score.
The host's thoughtfulness is frequently mentioned, with guests noting the warm welcome and helpfulness. Gifts such as cakes are appreciated, though it's important to note that such gestures are at the host's discretion and not guaranteed.

Situated in the foothills of the Snowdonia Mountain Range, Llanrug is a small village with two pubs and a shop just three miles from the famous town of Llanberis. Popular amongst walkers, this tranquil settlement is set beneath the Snowdon Massif and flanked by the Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris lakes. As one of the most popular mountain tourist centres in the Snowdonia National Park, Llanberis is an ideal spot for walkers and climbers to gather, particularly during the annual Snowdon marathon. For the less energetic holidaymaker, trains travel to the summit at regular intervals giving those unable to climb to the peak a chance to enjoy the incredible views. Back in the town itself there are a number of excellent places to eat and drink as well as a great choice of shops.

Went out of her way to be helpful and was only ever a phone call away with advice or support as needed. The accommodation was great for us as a large group and a great retreat from some beautiful wet and wild walks this winter!

As a large family this worked very well for all of us. I cannot praise the owner enough, nothing was to much trouble, such a lovely lady. Thank you Barbara for a wonderful stay.

The house has a wow factor and looks to be a converted barn with no expense spared fof the amount of natural wood used in the renovation. I stayed in the large family bedroom which was lovely. Really big rooms and ample parking. A really good base for visiting North Wales.
