Superbly located in central Criccieth, this stylish Duplex apartment, situated in a stunning conversion of St Deiniol’s Church and retaining many original and quirky features, commands spectacular views over Cardigan Bay. A wide selection of restaurants, pubs and shops, sandy beach and a magnificent ancient castle perched on a rocky headland are all within walking distance. A myriad of outdoor activities and family attractions are available in the nearby Snowdonia National Park and the rolling countryside of the Lleyn Peninsula. Just 4 miles away is the harbour town of Porthmadog, departure point for wonderful steam train journeys on the famous Ffestiniog railway. The Italianate village of Portmeirion, golf, fishing and riding are all easily accessible.

I'd give it 9 out of 10. If we come back here we'll seek Trecco out again. Spotlessly clean, & everything works – none of that “O no the XYZ isn't working...” The photos are accurate with views over the rooftops to castle & sea. It's a short walk to all the town's facilities, including the seafront. You need to call the owner for entry info, which was immediate & simple. For the 2 of us, there was lots of storage & hanging space for our walking kit.Be aware – it if matters – that the access stairs are steep, & so are the stairs inside. The TV is connected via an aerial & reception was poor. We solved it with an HDMI cable to the laptop & watched through the internet, which is reliable & strong enough for what we wanted. The blinds in the bedrooms are delicate & don't cover the whole window, if early morning light bothers you. We were there between the heatwaves & it was warm – in the heatwave some fans would be necessary, as you can't open the bedroom windows due to the traffic. Sort those niggles & it would be 10/10.

We have stayed at Trecco five times over the last few years. It is comfortable, cosy, clean and has lovely views of the Bay and Castle. It is convenient for shops and local eateries.
