Abersoch, a delightful harbour community, is located on the Llyn Peninsula, in an area of Wales known for its spectacular landscape and varied walks. The hamlet, nestled between two beautiful bays, is a popular sailing destination in North Wales, and important sailing regattas are held there throughout the summer. There are numerous shops catering to tourists, as well as pubs, restaurants, and cafes. There are also chances for golfers, as there is a course just outside the village, and horseback riding is accessible nearby. Watersports aficionados are also well supplied for, with windsurfing, water skiing, and dinghy sailing, not to mention world-class surfing at Port Neigwl (Hell's Mouth) to name a few. Abersoch Main Beach, which is long and sandy, is arguably the most popular beach in the area. The surrounding area of the Llyn Peninsula has a superb assortment of beaches, including the magnificent and frequently quiet Porth Ceriad, with its high cliffs, and sandy Porth Oer ("Whistling Sands"). The National Trust owns the majority of the coastline, and there are many isolated bays, sandy beaches, and cliffs to explore, as well as animal havens like Bardsey Island.

Love the place. However TLC desperately required…. Shower upstairs clearly leaked at one point, the floor and ceiling below require attention. Electricity needed putting back on several times (one of the hob rings plus oven seemed to trip it) Oven took a long time to heat up. Mould in bathrooms - particularly upstairs one. Otherwise fabulous - washer is great to have as is dishwasher. Would love to come back - but TLC needs to be done.

However the house was not very clean with cobwebs and dirty floors and the issues we reported last year with the showers have only partially been sorted and although the upstairs shower does not now leak into the bathroom below there is mould on the walls and the ceiling has still not been repaired. The beds are not great and it would be good to have better blinds (black out). The outside furniture is in a poor state and was covered in bird mess. Generally the house is looking tired and it doesn't look like there has been any maintenance or improvements over the last couple of years that we have stayed which is a shame as the size/layout and location are good.

Our only criticism is that the showers had poor performance. The crockery and glassware were good quality, unfortunately we felt the kitchen cooking utensils were not adequate for a party of 10 people. We appreciate that some clients will eat out or have takeaway meals, we as a family prefer home cooking and the pans were not big enough to make even a basic spaghetti bolognaise for us all, there were no dishes large enough to facilitate our needs. Perhaps clients should be made aware of this and are able to take items with them. We had a wonderful holiday and the nearness to the beaches and coastal paths were excellent many thanks
