With the tide lapping 20 paces from the front door, this is a fully centrally heated stone-built ’olde worlde’ small cottage, simply but comfortably furnished. One pet dog is welcome. Colourful sitting room with feature stone fireplace. Cosy dining room with table, chairs and Welsh dresser full of blue & white China. Spacious bedrooms have pretty, cottage ceilings and restful pastel decor.
Set on a promontory overlooking the harbour and standing in over an acre of grounds with two historic lime kilns at the bottom of the garden. Your own cliff top patio with dramatic harbour views and a gate to the little beach and mooring buoy for a dinghy, what could be better? Superb cliff scenery and wild flowers along the Coastal Path. Upper Fishguard has a good range of local amenities including interesting independent shops, supermarket, post office, chemist, health centre, vet and filling station. Fishguard Farmers Market is held every Saturday and a weekly market every Thursday. Pub ½ mile, on the flat round the harbour path. Restaurant ⅓ mile, up hill.

Carreg yr Eos is a lovely place. It has great views over Fishguard harbour which makes a good walk around the bay, right from the garden gate. It is beautiful both inside and out and has a very real authentic home feel, not just a holiday let. The kitchen is well stocked with equipment, the lounge is comfortable, the bedrooms (we only used one) are attractive with space for chairs, and sideboards as well as the very comfortable bed, (I slept soundly). The hill down to the house is steep and as I use a stick at the moment I gave up the idea of walking up the hill, but drove instead. The garden is large with a good variety of plants and trees, all maintained very well. We fed rooks on one of the walls in the garden every day, they're quite comical, intelligent birds that came about eight foot away from us. For a small town Fishguard has lots of shops, pubs, galleries, cafes and view points. There is a cracking bakers, (sold out by lunchtime), and the town hall has different markets on Thursdays and Saturdays which are well worth the visit. Go upstairs to the library as well and take a good look at the invasion tapestry, it's very impressive. The history of Fishguard is terrific. The grandchildren enjoyed the photos of the cannons I sent them. Both dogs and both of us thoroughly enjoyed staying at Carreg yr Eos and having discovered it I'm sure we will return.

We love the cottage with its large garden going down to the foreshore, and the snowdrops just strting. Warm and cosy with well equipped kitchen.

Stayed for Christmas with our elderly dad and dogs. The cottage was more spacious than we expected and the grounds are expansive. The cottage is warm and welcoming, the beds are so comfy, kitchen well equipped and we loved the snug lounge with the fire. It was very peaceful and relaxing. The only slight niggle for us was the steps leading down to the quay perhaps needs a hand rail for more elderly or mobility challenged people. We will definitely be booking to return very soon
