Barn Cottage in Haverfordwest offers a charming, rural retreat with a warm hostess, Nesta. Guests appreciate the idyllic setting, cosy wood fire, and the farm's tranquillity. While some find the cottage quaint and well-equipped, others note areas for improvement, particularly in the kitchen and cleanliness. The farm's animals and the personal touches, like homemade cakes, add to the experience, though these gestures are not guaranteed.
Reviews indicate a mix of experiences regarding cleanliness. Some guests found the cottage immaculate, while others reported cobwebs, dead flies, and a need for a deeper clean. The average score reflects this inconsistency.
The location is frequently praised for its peaceful farm setting and proximity to Pembrokeshire attractions. The rural charm and quietness are well-received, although mobile network coverage is limited.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, especially with the wood fire. However, some noted the property could benefit from updates and additional kitchenware for convenience.
Facilities are seen as adequate but in need of updating and maintenance. Issues with kitchen appliances, lack of freezer, and garden furniture are mentioned. The presence of a working farm adds novelty but also brings challenges like flies.
The hostess's thoughtfulness is highlighted through gestures like bathrobes in bedrooms, homemade cakes, and farm tours. However, as these are personal touches and not guaranteed amenities, guests should not expect them with certainty.
The larger of these two superb Haverfordwest holiday cottages on the owners' working farm is next to the farmhouse with one ground floor bedroom and two first floor bedrooms which both have basins, plus there are two bathrooms in this wonderful family holiday cottage. The country style furnishings throughout add to the character of this lovely Haverfordwest cottage with individually designed bedding and curtains adding to the charm. The owners have created a welcoming and warming feel to the cottage with many extras such as complimentary toiletries from a local supplier.
Enjoy the shared use of the owners' pretty garden with seasonal flowers, lovely shrubs and beautiful wild birds to watch. If you wish to venture for days out you will be spoilt for choice with castles, theme parks, sandy beaches, the famous coastal path and much, much more in the knowledge that you will be returning to a charming cottage at the end of your day. Met on arrival by Nesta who is a lovely lady. The cottage was spotlessly clean and has everything you could need with all appliances in good order. The cakes were a bonus and well received. We had a great week visiting the areas many attractions, donât miss Newgale with its 3km beach or Pendine sands for the Speed museum. Donât be put off by some of the negative comments which are years old. There are no milking cows on the farm now so no noise, just perfect peace. Did I mention the dark starry sky at night? Thanks to all for a great week. Bob and Carol

Small cleaning issues. But would recommend.

Everything was nice and relaxed. The property was spacious with great character, although taller people do need to remember to move carefully with some beams and low spots. The shower had plenty of hot water and having bathrooms upstairs and downstairs was useful. The bathroom downstairs had particularly nice space with large sink and mirror too. Having its own washing machine in a decent sized utility room was one of the reasons we chose this property, and it didnât disappoint. We would stay here again.
