Drive up the winding driveway, guarded by substantial trees and park up outside the abode, with plenty of space for the rest of the group. Be charmed by the grand interior, with oak panels and doors, as well as a warm, traditional décor to accentuate the splendour of the property. To the left, find the sitting room, the ideal spot to unwind after a day of exploring the town; enjoy a glass of wine on the sofa with the glow of the woodburning stove gently heating up the room.

This was our second stay at Longsdon as we very much enjoyed our previous stay but the property is gradually getting a bit tired. One bedroom window was broken and the external glass fragment was hanging dangerously loose. The important areas are clean but the house is in need of a deep clean and some refurbishment. Excellent bathroom and shower and the bedrooms are large and comfortable. Unfortunately, the liquid soaps were empty, there was just 1 sheet of kitchen roll, just 1 black bin bag and 1 food waste bag - not enough for a week. There are no instructions as to what do do with recycling waste. The house has an Aga that is permanently on - good on cool days but gives unwanted heat on hot days.

Overall its a comfortable place to stay but needs modernisation. There was a lot of dog hairs on the smaller sofa and in one of the bedrooms, being dog owners ourselves it would probably put others off. It wasnât the cleanest place so would benefit from a deep clean. Lovely spacious garden which needs a little TLC as the tree outside the front room blocks the sun light. Hallway dark at the front door so needing the light on. The longer we stayed the more the house grew on us and it made our holiday more relaxing. We would consider staying there again.

Beautiful welcome pack was very nice. Some issues with in the house which should be address and fixed before renting there are some widows broken one in double bedroom and in bathroom when getting worm weather this is an issue as you cannot open them as I was afraid glass will shattered, house would be in better condition if would be better cleaned, widows was looking like not clean in years, no key to the main door you only can access the house from the back doors next to garage, we had rain and there was water leak in the doorway to washing machine facility I had to put some plastic boxes to catch the water. In this time of the year lots of bees flying around and getting to the house. Overall love the place but need some more love, thank you.
