A row of cafés, pubs, ice cream parlours, and independent shops lines the waterfront and main streets, creating a welcoming buzz, especially in warmer months. The old harbour at one end of the beach hints at the town’s working past, when coal and limestone were shipped from here, but today it’s mostly pleasure boats, kayaks, and paddleboards bobbing in the water. Folly Farm (4 miles) is one of Pembrokeshire’s top family attractions, where a wide range of animals await. More wonderful places to visit include Glen Beach 0.5 miles, Coppet Hall 0.5 miles and Monkstone Beach 1.5 miles.
