Bridge End Cottage is a charming, peaceful retreat set in beautiful Welsh countryside, ideal for those seeking tranquillity and scenic walks. Guests praise its cosy atmosphere, well-equipped kitchen, and thoughtful touches. The log burner and garden are highlights, and the cottage is dog-friendly. While the remote location and coin-operated electricity are noted, these are minor compared to the overall comfort and cleanliness. Occasional mentions of parking and mattress firmness do not detract from the overwhelmingly positive experience.
Multiple guests describe the cottage as clean and well-maintained, with no significant complaints about cleanliness. Only one review mentions a wood-smoke smell and some dampness in the conservatory, but these are isolated comments.
The location is widely praised for its peace, remoteness, and stunning scenery. Guests love the rural setting, proximity to walks, and easy access to local towns and attractions. The only minor negatives are the narrow access roads and distance from shops, which most guests accept as part of the charm.
Guests consistently mention the cottage's cosiness and comfortable beds. The log burner adds to the comfort, though a few guests note the living room can be cool without it and one mentions a firm mattress. Overall, comfort is a strong point.
The cottage is described as well-equipped, with a good kitchen, modern bathroom, and useful utility areas. The coin-operated electricity meter is mentioned as a minor inconvenience, and there are occasional comments about TV setup and parking, but these do not significantly detract from the overall positive impression.
Several guests mention thoughtful touches such as a welcome card, wine, and generous provision of logs. Please note that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay. Detailed instructions and good communication from the owners are also appreciated.

We had a great time at bridge end, I highly recommend it if you want to get away from it all. Location is so peaceful and we were spoilt with the weather so had late evenings out in the garden. The property was clean, comfortable and all we needed. Great communication from James and booking with cottages.com was smooth and easy.

We had a simply amazing stay at the cottage, couldn't have wished for more. The location is stunning and the cottage is peaceful, comfortable and very well equipped, lots of thoughtful touches by the owners who obviously cherish their beloved home. There are absolutely no negatives all was truly perfect, we stay in a lot of holiday cottages but this tops them all hands down Sad to leave

An incredibly peaceful location, reached by narrow winding single track lanes. Beautiful walks nearby and amazing scenery. It's great for dogs in so many ways however beware that the garden is not secure and there is wildlife and sheep around, so it may be worth taking a tie out line or other means of keeping them safe/secure.It is wise to take the essentials with you but there are supermarkets at Hay on Wye and Builth Wells. The cottage itself is clean and comfortable and has everything you need. The owners are very generous with logs for the woodburner, but take a stock of £1/£2 coins for the electricity. We found we didn't use a huge amount, the immersion heater is effective so half an hour was enough, and we didn't use the electric radiators at all.
