This inviting little log cabin sits on a quiet park on the edge of Builth Wells, Powys. Enjoying a private setting with a flowing river nearby, Riverside Rest is a great choice for families or groups of four looking to stay in reach of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The off-road parking for three cars makes it easy to arrive and get unpacked, and you’ll be ready to explore the area before you know it! Step into this quaint abode and make yourself at home in the open-plan living area, perching on the sofa as you discuss the holiday plans together. Step over to the kitchen, complete with all you need for a short stay, while there is a handy utility room with additional fridge/freezer for extra storage. Beyond the patio doors lies the rear veranda, a private space to enjoy a drink on the furniture, with the gentle flow of the river putting you at ease. As the day comes to a close, freshen up in the shower room before retiring to either of the double bedrooms. When you’re ready to adventure, head into the town centre of Builth Wells, home to a selection of independent shops and well-established pubs to refuel at, plus some historical attractions like Builth Castle, which was built under King Edward I, once an impressive stone-built, now all that remains are earthworks. The town also has a fantastic golf club and is within reach of the iconic Royal Welsh Show Ground. If you’re after a slice of countryside charm, visit Hay-on-Wye, where idyllic walks along the River Wye and afternoons unwinding at Hay Warren are recommended For a lovely meal at the end of your day head to Caerberis Manor, which has a fabulous bar and restaurant and is only a short walk away. Choose Riverside Rest for a relaxing break in the heart of Wales.
Builth Wells, also known by its Welsh name Llanfair-ym-Muallt, is a charming market town that serves as a great home base for exploring Mid-Wales. This is the perfect place for walking, pony trekking, and mountain biking, and it also has a lot of intriguing craft shops and collectors' fairs. The town has an intense 18-hole golf course, a sports complex, and the Wyeside Arts Centre, which hosts numerous live performances in addition to a movie theatre. The Royal Welsh Showground, located across the River Wye, is where the well-known Royal Welsh Show is held in July. There are also other other events held there throughout the year. This fantastic location is a utopia for outdoor enthusiasts or those simply looking to unwind amidst gorgeous scenery, since Llandrindod Wells, a spa town, is only 8 miles away and the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park and Black Mountains are easily accessible. Builth Wells is a great starting point that serves as a gateway to Wales.
