Hill View Lodge offers a secluded getaway with a hot tub, pool table, and good Wi-Fi, ideal for a peaceful break. The property is clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, though a bit remote. Guests enjoyed the natural surroundings and the opportunity for stargazing with minimal light pollution.
The cottage was described as fairly clean with the exception of cobweb-covered windows and an initial unpleasant odour that was resolved. Overall, guests seemed satisfied with the cleanliness.
While the remote location offers tranquillity and privacy, it is not as close to amenities as some guests expected. The nearest pub and shops require a drive, which may not suit everyone's preferences.
Guests found the house cosy, especially with the fire lit during less favourable weather. The hot tub added to the comfort, providing a relaxing experience.
The facilities, including a hot tub and pool table, were appreciated by guests. However, the lack of a washing machine was noted. Overall, the facilities met the needs for a short stay.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches provided by the host that would indicate thoughtfulness. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

The village of Heyope is close to the popular town of Knighton, which occupies a unique position as part of the town is in Wales, and part in England – a truly unique character border town. Made famous by one of Owain Glyndwr’s most renowned victories against English invaders, it now warmly welcomes tourists from all over Europe and beyond. Steeped in history with sloping, winding streets, and 17th Century half-timbered houses, this is a great location for visiting Offa’s Dyke and the Glyndwr Way or exploring the beautiful and fascinating Teme Valley.
Throughout the year there are lively fairs celebrated, and all year round you will find an array of antique and gift shops, tea rooms, old inns, good food and friendly locals. Local attractions include Offas Dyke Heritage Centre, Powys Observatory with Planetarium Show, golf, clay pigeon shooting and coarse fishing. Due to its special location, the tourist attractions of Shropshire and mid Wales are all within easy driving distances, so you can visit the likes of Clun with its castle, Ludlow, Church Stretton and Longmynd.
Ironbridge Gorge, Shrewsbury and Bridgnorth make great day trips, and over the border into Wales, you can enjoy Welshpool with its steam engine, canal and Powys Castle.
Occupying an enviable position in the village of Heyope, and overlooking the rolling countryside, this property is available to book with other detached holiday cottages (refs 30201, 30202, 30203, UK6399 & UK40389) all stand within their own grounds on a small exclusive site, each with a private hot tub, patio area and enclosed garden.

Had a very peaceful stay in this lovely house. Unfortunately the weather wasn't on our side but made it cosier to light the fire and play pool! Hot tub was great and we really enjoyed using it. Cottage facilities lacked a washing machine but overall we had everything else we needed for a short break. Bonus was no phone signal so we were truly peaceful. Wifi was good and we enjoyed watching the sheep, rabbits and kites outside. Thank you for a mini escape :)
