This large, detached Grade two listed property is set on the outskirts of the pretty town of Montgomery, close to the town’s amenities.
The Offa’s Dyke National Trail runs close by to the town, providing a good excuse to get on your boots and head off for a walk, with vineyards and homemade ice cream suppliers nearby. Guests are also very close to the National Trust properties Powys Castle, Chirk Castle, Erddig and Attingham Park. The Welshpool to Llanfair steam railway, Montgomery Canal, and Lake Vyrnwy are all local and well worth a visit. Quad biking, paintballing and horse riding are all available locally, and watersports can be found at Bala Lake and in Llangollen, a 40-minute drive. Historic Shrewsbury is a 30-minute drive away, while within easy driving distance there is also Welshpool and Newtown all of which host a wide range of bars, shops and restaurants, and the west Wales coastline is approximately an hour’s drive away.
The property is detached and is set in an elevated position. Enter into the entrance porch, where you can leave your muddy coats and boots after a busy day out. On the ground floor, the living room features comfortable seating and Smart TV, while the kitchen is well-equipped with everything you could need during your stay, including a dishwasher and washing machine. We enjoyed a wonderful 5 night stay at the Ramparts in Montgomery. The accommodation was perfect and beautifully appointed with equipment, towels etc. the surrounding areas are lovely and we were very lucky with mostly good weather! Went had a problem with the TV but the owner came out very quickly to sort it out for us.I would highly recommend this property.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at The Ramparts and again a fantastic place to stay. We have now stayed there in the middle of Winter and the middle of the summer with the fantastic views of the local area being so different each time but amazing all the same!The house is very clean and in a central location within the village with up to date appliances and plenty of space.
