I have just spent a fantastic week at Cuckoo Hill Lodge with my family, including 3 boys and 2 dogs. The lodge is down a quiet country lane, and the owners are just next door and came to show us around the facilities when we got there. The Lodge itself was clean, roomy and had everything we needed for our stay. It had a large modern kitchen and everything was well maintained. On arrival, there was tea and coffee, milk, eggs and the owner Anne had made a fantastic cake for us 🍰 There were also a large selection of homemade jams to buy.Big TV in lounge and Wi-Fi to keep the children entertained on an evening, as well as lots of boards games and books. There is a large, enclosed garden, which was perfect for the kids to play and the dogs to safely run around. Luckily, we had lovely weather during our stay so made good use of the outdoor seating area and hot tub. And it was lovely to see the red kites flying over the garden every day.The lodge was a short drive from the local town Rhayader, which has local shops had a nice riverside walk. It was about 20 minutes to larger town for supermarket. It was also driveable to Elan Valley for nice walks around dam and reservoir.Overall, a perfect location for quiet week away in mid Wales. I would definitely recommend a stay in the Cuckoo Hill Lodge. Thank you to Ann and Mick for a lovely stay.

Lovely hosts with beautiful welcome pack. Couldn't fault anything except the weather was too hot for the pups. The lodge catered for everything you could possibly think of, for both adults and children and dogs. Although we didn't have any children. All the little touches that were put into place made it so lovely to spend my 60th at. Ann had obviously gone to a lot of trouble to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Elan dam was amazing and unfortunately the only day we managed to get out. But it was such a beautiful place to be stuck indoors. Managed a few short trips into town which was lovely. Would highly recommend to the point we have already booked again for next year.
