A delightful 18th century detached barn nestling within a three acre rural setting in the Conwy Valley. A wonderful property, The Shippon has been beautifully converted and retains many features such as exposed beams and a charming mezzanine bedroom. Outside, the property has a pretty sitting area. It is surrounded by fields with lovely views, and is exceptionally tranquil. The Shippon offers cosy and comfortable accommodation, furnished and decorated to a high standard. The whole area is a paradise for climbers, walkers, cyclists and horseriders alike - the Snowdonia National Park is within easy riding distance, and summer stabling is available. Conwy is a true medieval gem with its magnificent castle, splendid town walks, picturesque harbour and links golf course. An ideal location for a relaxing break any time of the year.
Conwy is an historic town and has been declared a World Heritage Site in recognition of its architecture and other links with the past. The town is most renowned for its medieval castle and town walls that are almost complete, both of which offer fantastic views of Snowdonia and the estuary of the River Conwy. Today Conwy is a bustling town that caters for both tourists and the local community. Ancient buildings sit comfortably among more recent properties and there is an abundance of places to visit. Top of the list is the Castle, but there are many more, including Plas Mawr, an architectural gem and said to be the finest surviving Elizabethan townhouse to be found anywhere in Britain. Towards the quayside you will find Aberconwy House a 14th Century merchant's house believed to be the oldest townhouse in Wales. It has been carefully restored to reflect the daily life of its residents over time. On the quayside you may enter the smallest house in Britain or visit the Aquarium and Conwy mussel museum. Take a boat trip on the river and see the Great Orme, or sail upriver to see the full beauty of the Conwy Estuary and the Conwy Valley.
