Blaenau Ffestiniog is a historic mining town, best known for being the slate capital of the world, having recently been awarded the acclaimed unesco World Heritage Site. The area is a mecca for any outdoor enthusiasts, with bike trails, climbing, kayaking, and walking routes in abundance. Only a few minutes away is Llechwedd Slate Caverns/Zip World; a great day out for the kids and adults alike.
You’re only a short drive from Betws Y Coed, known as the gateway to the Snowdonia National Park. Also, within easy reach is Porthmadog; home to the Welsh Highland Railway and the famous Black Rock Sands, and Harlech is also only a short drive away, also a unesco World Heritage Site, with its imposing castle and simply stunning beaches it is well worth a visit. You will certainly not be short of sights to see and places to visit in this diverse area. Beach 13 miles.

We arrived late but was not an isue. free parking in the local supermarket right next to the property was a bonus. Property was warm and 3 good sized bedrooms along with a comfortable living room, large kitchen and big bathroom with bath and shower. Host was very friendly when we met in the cafe for breakfast on the Sunday morning. The cupcakes were a nice touch too. 30 minutes drive from Snowdon. Would definitely stay again next time we are in the area.
